Battle Mage Secrets_Counterspell-Set-Rule

Hello Battle Mages
I hope you didn't miss too much, even if you did, here I am with another presentation of a battle in line with this week's battle mage secrets spotlighting the counter-spell set rule. I'd love to refer everyone and anyone interested to the published post in the Splinterlands community where the guidelines for participation are highlighted. For this week, sit back while I share some secrets behind achieving success while battling under the condition of counter-spell set rule.
Counterspell
Whenever we see the counterspell logo as our set rule, it simply means that all monsters have the magic reflect ability. Having magic reflect means that when a monster is hit with magic damage, the attacking monster gets a reflection of its own damage but not the exact damage inflicted on the targeted monster. Most players do choose to exclude magic monsters when facing the condition of counterspell but there are ways to get successful with magic monsters in this condition and one of such ways can be seen in the battle presented below. Anyway, let's discuss some strategies that can be used in conditions such as counterspell.
Good Strategies for Counterspell Battles
Avoiding Magic Monsters - It is totally wise to ignore magic monsters or include only the magic monster that doesn't get affected by reflects. The game has three attack types and in this case, where one has to worry about reflects, choosing melee and ranged monsters wouldn't be a bad idea. The problem here is that most people already know this, so they tend to fortify their side against melee and ranged monsters but it still remains a good option to use.
Using Magic Monsters That Can Handle Reflects - There is a way a magic monster can take no or less reflect damage and this includes the use of void ability. For magic to have an impact on a monster with void ability, that magic damage must be above one after it has moved past the negative effects of every other monster. However, magic monsters under a void offering summoner need not worry much about reflects. This can be best understood while watching the presented battle.

| Elements in Battlefield | Earth Vs Life |

Anyway, I take no pride in this victory knowing fully well that the enemy battled entirely with level-one monsters
Team Selection
Name: IMMORTALIS
LEGENDARY Earth Summoner
Stats: Health +1, Void Ability✔️, Shatter Ability✔️

The Legendary Earth summoner Immortalis happens to be the best summoner when using magic monsters for this set rule. What makes Immortalis thick is its triple stat offer to friendly monsters. The increased health offer is a plus while the shatter and void ability means armor and magic are no threat to its team
FLESH GOLEM

The big guy Flesh Golem Performs well at the defense position. In this battle, it was deployed at level five having three melee damage while utilizing its heal ability. Golem performed exceptionally well and had to carry on alone when all friendly monsters were eliminated but of course, he alone couldn't have pulled the victory.
MUSHROOM SEER

Using Mushroom Seer was more like a bet. On a better strategy, I would have been using a monster capable of protecting the team with armor knowing fully well that most players will choose to be physical in this set rule. The gamble of using Seer was to harness its silence ability should the enemy use magic monsters, unfortunately, it played out badly and my back-line monsters were eliminated easily
GOBLIN PSYCHIC

Goblin Psychic the tank heal and affliction monster played its role according to its nature. It supported the front-line monster with healing making sure it doesn't get eliminated from the battlefield. The affliction ability was never deployed and wouldn't have made any difference since the enemy has no healing monster.
HALFLING ALCHEMIST

The Epic Monster Alchemist was never given the opportunity to experience just a round. I had thought that because the set rule involves reverse speed, Halfling Alchemist will get the opportunity of attacking but the enemy's low-speed monsters made sure that didn't happen
That will be all for this week. Please join me next week for another battle mage secrets challenge same place. Leave a comment on how the strategy can be better or any other of your choice.
