Hello Hive
It's a pleasure to welcome you all to another edition of the weekly battle mage secrets. As it stands, the time frame for this week's submission is just in less than 24 hours. This week features the ruleset "Noxious Fumes". However, in the subsequent sections, I will be sharing a battle with this ruleset and a brief discussion on the strategy used. Before that is done, please join us on the battlefield and also in sharing the weekly battle. To do this, kindly locate the weekly post announcing the theme for the week and the guideline requirements. For this week's announcement post, kindly click here

Noxious Fumes Ruleset

The SPL game is very technical and requires strategic thinking in other to overpower your enemy. Although there's a bit of luck in play, it's more like 90% strategy and 10% luck. Ruleset like Noxious Fumes put the monsters in a disadvantageous nature and therefore require some specific attributes to get a win. Noxious Fumes simply means that all monsters start the battle poisoned. This means that at the end of each round, the monsters lose an extra two health to the poison. The twist in this is that there are monsters that are immune to this poison. However, to be on the safer side, one has to think of using such monsters with the ability to poison immunity. In Spl game, there is two ability capable of overcoming the poison effect and those are the immunity and cleanse ability. In other words, whenever faced with this ruleset, the thought should always have these two anti-poison abilities.

My Strategy for this Battle

In this battle, the anti-poison mechanism I deployed was using a summoner that cleanses the monsters of the poison. However, this summoner gave an added advantage to its team with an additional two health and the last man standing ability.

The mana cap didn't seem like one that could accommodate many monsters, so being strategic in the selection was the key to success. The newly introduced martyr ability was used as a booster. It's well known that when a monster with martyr ability dies, monsters beside it get their stats increased.

Using double martyr to boost a healing ability monster was basically the strategy of my team.

Team Selection

Summoner: SCARRED LLAMA MAGE
Rarity/Element: Legendary/Earth
Stats: +2 Health😱 Last Man Standing✔️ Cleanse✔️✔️

The reason for selecting this summoner is quite clear enough. Cleanse is one way to deal with the poison that the monsters got from the ruleset. Last Man Standing ability also strengthens the last monster on the team by increasing its stats. Another plus for the team from this summoner is an extra 2 health.

VENARI MARKSRAT

FUNGUS FLINGER

Who says Marksrat can't make a good defender? Anyway, don't get deceived, Martsrat is never a defending monster. However, in cases like this ruleset, it makes the perfect sacrifice. Fungus Flinger on the other hand is no different. Although at higher levels these monsters have other things to offer in a battle but their purpose in this battle is simply to be used as a booster to the self healing monster expected to gain the last man-standing ability.

KRON THE UNDYING

The monster to gain from the death of the martyr, Kron The Undying selection was as a result of its high magic damage and the healing ability it possesses. Just as anticipated, the martyr's death boosted its stat with the other stat from the summoner which made this monster stronger.

That will be all for this week. I hope you enjoyed the read. Please join me next week for another battle mage secrets challenge same place. Leave a comment on how the strategy can be better or any other of your choice.
