Sir Leo of Montalban, Philippines

Hello everyone!It is January 01, 2022 21:27 eastern time. And i would like to greet everyone a Happy and Prosperous New year to all.

I would like to start my day one for the year 2022 writing the life story of Sir Leo. And maybe we can all learn and realize how blessed we are even though we face some difficult and rough situations in our daily lives.

And here's the story of a father who is separated from his son, so he can work and provide for his family. I am not acquainted or related to him, but I saw his living situation in the Philippines while my sister visited there for Christmas.

It was December 25, 2021,because of time difference it was night time here in America and it was early morning in the Philippines . While i was video chatting with my sister , she mentioned there was an old guy who is sleeping on a cardboard on the side of the house she was staying in.

In the picture below, you will see that Sir Leo doesn't have a blanket and he is using his own shirt as a replacement for the blanket. Philippines is a tropical country, but at night time sleeping outside could be also cold.

Being curious of Sir Leo's situation, we asked our relative who resides in the Philippines and deep dive to what situation he is in, and why he is sleeping outside. We were told that he is working as a construction worker at the house that is being renovated. He is earning 600 pesos (USD12.76) a hard earned money for his work. And he chose to stay in, instead of going to Montalban where he reside , because for his round trip transportation, it would cost him 100 pesos (USD2.12). The cost of his daily meal , would be a different story as he would have to deduct it to his salary of his whole day of hard work.

My sister manage to get some videos of Sir Leo while he was doing his construction work of the day. And manage to interview him.
And gave him a little gift for Christmas. Which we truly hope will help him in some way.

Seeing the situation of Sir Leo, I have realize many things in life.
That blessings come in different form.

To majority of us, we don't see that blessings is always around us. Just being in America, having a good health , and being with your loved ones, knowing that we have a place to stay and sleep after a hard day of work. a bed and blanket we have at night time.
Meals that we can always have as long as we work hard for it. It is all a blessings.

I am hoping that this blog will help others to realize that everyday is a blessing as soon as we open our eyes in the morning.
