🍉 [MELN] 1UP Operator Weekly Lab Report: eXode
Greetings, eXode pilots and civilians! Welcome to the tenth weekly eXode #oneup report! There has been a growing need and cry from the community for an ovierview for navigating some of eXode's currently playable features. I have heard your distress call! Sending you a helpful transmission now. It will include the basics of the Colonization Pass and Game Inspector. This signal may get corrupted and no longer be valid in the future. Things in this universe are always subject to change.
If you are not a captain yet, it is highly recommended you use the link at the end of this post (details below). You must have purchased at least a starter to look at the Starbase market and otherwise interact with eXode game.
To play in the latest testrooms, you should go to the Colonization Pass. Click on GAME in upper right then click Access your Colonization Pass.
From here you will see lots of options. Many of these will become active/update sooner or later on the roadmap. Our target it will be My Games.
Normally, you would be able to launch a new EVAC from here. However, I do not have that option since I am already registered for the Colonization Challenge. Don't worry if you feel like you got better cards and want to run a new Evacuation. You will be able to try your shiny new deck in what I call Away Teams+.
Let's have a look at the ongoing Away Teams Challenge.
Every 23 hours, you are allowed 1 action, viewable in the Actions tab on the bottom. The main objective of this challenge is to send out investigative missions to explore and discover your planet's resources. Before missions were live, pilots spent their actions on Intel to uncover some information on non-relevant (in terms of research) animals and/or other dangerous events on your planet. Planet and Colony Preparations will affect how many actions you can queue later during colonization so that you may spend time away from the computer and then come back to check any events. Claiming Rest will increase one of your character's Happiness. Have you offloaded all your cargo? These will be immediately available in the Colonization Challenge.
Have you helped all passengers settle in from their cabins? (Did the cabins survive?)
Training can increase the stat in a desired role. (You can see all characters' relevant stats in the Roles tab. Click on Characters if you want to see all stats of an individual along with their status and equipment.) Training your best candidate for the role of Scout, for example, will come in handy since every mission requires a scout. Or suppose you also want to train a second scout for various reasons. A second scout could reduce your chances of being ambushed by wild animals, or perhaps you want a Guide to reduce the Travel Time. Check out this this post for more details on what some of the other different support roles do during missions.
Before sending out your first mission you should claim Food a few times. You will need 1 food for every member of the mission, so that it costs 3 food for each mission. It will also cost 1 Away Team Ticket to view the mission results in the Debriefing Room. Have one ready or claim one during the two days or so that the mission takes in real time.
When characters are severely wounded, they can no longer go on missions. Do not worry, every time the developer activates a delivery (ie gives you your claimed intel that was pending), wounded characters gain 1d6 health.
There you have it! A short guide to the Away Teams interface. There may only be a short time left for this challenge, so make sure you investigate every little detail about your planet.
Tip: If you investigate the same resource more than once, you will discover more information about it! Furthermore, plants and animals have discoverable biofragmemnts apart from their normal attributes!

So did I understand correctly that Away teams take 3 food/day so about 6 food, an action for the away team, an action to claim the away team ticket? If I got that correct it seems 2x away team missions take about 5 days worth of actions 1 for food, two for away teams, two for claiming tickets. I have never successfully viewed a report in the debriefing room however after claiming an away team ticket it seemed to add the away team info to the planet info, can you discuss the way the Debriefing room is meant to work and does it also consume a daily action? Am I correct that we are always limited to one action per day? Do you have a suggestion as to what are the most important things to work on for those of us with such limited time in the current alpha. What happens if I run out of food? I am concerned because my investigation in ready state seems to continue consuming 3 food/day.
The only thing you are wrong about is the food consumption. It is always just 3 food per mission regardless of how long the mission takes. It would take about 3 days to get everything going. One day to claim food, another to claim a ticket, and the third to send out the team. That is what your should do. Then about 2 days later when the investigation is "Ready" (so yes in 5 days total) you can go to the Debriefing Room.

.This is a good presentation for new players for sure. Brings everyone closer to being up to date on the current interface and previous development work.
Also nice to see that my crew power score is not that much lower then the one you screen shot. I was always wondering how bad my crew was, and now I know it is not so good with a score of 34. My next crew will be better now that I know a little more about the game. All this production time put into these posts helps many players.

Once Away Teams+ is released I'll enter a better crew as well. Elite cards add more points and I only have two in this current build. Also I know a few more things now, such as Tyron is a better pilot than Oksana. Though she did extremely well for me, I'd say, in the new landing scene. Landing went much better this time than the first time.
Thanks for the information! Now looks everything a little bit easyer.... Just wondering. the action cap of just one action per 23h is a fixed parameter. Maybe it affects to playability? I just claimed food and have to w8 another 23hours 'without doing anything'. Thanks to bringing this quality content of new projects to the THGaming community! Cheers!
Yes, the action cap is one every 23 hours. Unless you discovered some sort of nasty bug and were awarded compensation tickets, which you can use freely.
