🎸★Our Shan Classic songs and playing the Rising Star game 🎶🎼

Dear friends,

New cards have been issued for this month and I found one singer among the cards with Shan costume. It is "R407 Malai" and it says on that card, "she can sing like a goddess without plugging in a single cable.". And that reminded me to present about our Shan classic song.

Our Shan have old era song that can be sung with or without musical instrument. Singers talented for those songs have to be invited to ceremonies and festivals. They have skills in spontaneously creating and singing songs that fit the occasions. They could sing about the donation, praise, love or romance, etc. Or it could be like a conversation between two persons. The singers are usually invited because they have good accent in singing and skills to improvisedly compose songs with lovely and proper words and phrases that suit the situations.

And those songs are accompanied by music from our traditional musical instrument as can be seen in the photo below. It is called phono fiddle according to that web page.

In the below Youtube video, you can see the fiddle being played while the two singers were singing at a wedding reception (at 10:00 minute time); the male singer first sung first and then the female and then together .

And those kind of classic songs can also be sung with no instrument at all. It could be like a debate or conversation between two person. I tried to find a video but couldn't find one because the videos were usually recorded at festivals and ceremonies, where musical instruments were available. The songs with no musical instrument would be like the ones with no music from the fiddle removed. Thank you.
