Rumour Land - Splinterlands - End of SPS Airdrops
Rumour Has It...
So what will happen at the end of the SPS Airdrop??
So we are day 197 so we are just over half way through meaning we still have another 168 drops to go! that means by 27th July 2022 it will end!
So what will happen after day 365 is done and gone??
1. Splinterlands will stop dropping SPS airdrops - You wont get SPS this way at least!
2. New ways to earn SPS will be introduced like the announcement that "Rank Battle Rewards" Will not only pay out DEC but SPS. (Note They Have Said To Get SPS Rewards This Way You Need SPS Staked)
3. The SPS Validator Nodes - The game will be collectively governed by SPS holders. Meaning decisions will be implemented by this form and Validators will be rewarded for supporting that role. (Note Validators Will Be Voted In By The Community & Can Be Changed)
So you may say "Well does that mean after the Airdrop SPS is dead or dying"...Nope! And I'll explain why!
1. Riftwatchers - As most of you know, Splinterlands plans to release a new mini-edition of cards called Riftwatchers due Q2 of 2022 Similar to the past mini-editions i.e AZMARE Dice - however instead of being available to purchase using DEC, You only use SPS tokens - all of which will go directly to the SPS foundation treasury. There’s rumoured to be 3m packs and each pack will cost $5 or around 53 SPS using todays figures.
2. LAND - As previously mentioned on my blog SPS will play heavily in function of LAND, I will leave a link below to that post but in short you will need to burn SPS to move on your progression and earn rewards for your plot. Land Post
3. NEW Type of Reward Pool Incentives - This point needs more information but what we know is the Devs want to reward players for playing the game and spending longer on the chain not solely just for the daily rewards and SPS is being pushed as one of these rewards.
Conclusion:
Whilst yes, SPS airdrop will end in the sense we all know now, its not the end of SPS instead I only see SPS pumping from that point, The demand and lack of open supply with incentives and reasons to stake or use SPS / Burn SPS this will cause a ripple effect meaning the demand for the token will increase. This is just my opinion and the opinion of a number of players. In short if you believe in the success of this game now is the time to ensure your bags are full of SPS the current price is very enticing so don’t miss out as I believe as the end comes on the airdrop that price wont be low it will be pumped...Where will you be!
