It Doesn't Matter Who is the Summoner, But The Best Tanker Will Bring Smile of Victory

Hello, everybody, how is your weekend? I hope you all have a happy weekend. Today I will make a post again about the Splinterlands contest Battle Mage Secrets Challenge. This Week's Theme is Silenced Summoners ruleset.

I usually battled in the Modern Format Diamond League using my 2 scholar accounts from Balthazar scholar bltzr-wizard-710 and bltzr-wizard-711. In this battle, I'm battling with my fellow scholar.

Ruleset

  • Armored Up, All Monsters have 2 Armor in addition to their normal Armor stat.
  • FabFour, up to four units can be used in this battle.
  • Silent Summoner.png Silenced Summoners, summoners do not give any stat buffs or debuffs or grant/use any abilities.
  • mana cap.
  • can use elements Fire, Water, Earth, and Life element.

My Lineup and strategy

Some of my thinking when choosing my lineup :

  • Armored Up ruleset means melee and range attacks become less effective in this battle. Bringing a magic unit is a good thing.
  • The FabFour ruleset with low mana battle makes it easier to choose formation because you only need to choose 4 units with limited mana, if it's a high mana battle then we have a lot of option cards and formations we can use.
  • The Silenced Summoner ruleset in this battle means we ignore the summoner and must choose the best tanker from the 4 elements first, then we choose another unit as an attacker or support.

In this battle, we chose the Life element because we have a good tanker unit with a low mana cost, the 2nd reason we chose this element is because have several good low mana cost units.

This is my lineup for this battle

Summoner or monsterAbilitiesDescription
General Sloan, Summoner. No ability in this battle cause the ruleset. We use this summoner because this is the summoner with the smallest mana usage that we have in the Life element .
image.pngPelacor Conjurer, 1st position, Tanker. Has the ability Flying, Magic Reflect, Divine Shield, and Phase. This unit is the reason we choose to use the Life element, this is our main tanker. In the low mana battle, this monster is hard to kill because has high speed and can evade all attacks including magic because has the Phase ability. The Flying ability can increase the chance to dodge enemy attacks by 25%. If attacked by a magic attack and hit, it will reflect the damage to the enemy. The ability Magic Reflect deals magic damage equivalent to the attacker's damage divided by 2, rounded up. It is immune to the first enemy attack that hits because has a Divine shield ability.
Celestial Harpy, 2nd position, attacker. Has the ability Flying, Opportunity, and True Strike. This monster can attack from any position, with the Opportunity ability will attack the monster with the lowest HP. The True Strike ability makes the attack always hit the target. I Use these monsters because only cost 2 mana and can attack from any position. I put it here so it becomes 2nd tanker when the Pelacor Conjurer die because this unit have decent stats and the ability to evade range and melee attack.
Venari Marksrat, 3th position, attacker and support, has the ability Martyr, and Ensnare. We used this monster to boost the stats of the Celestial Harpy in the 2nd position and Doctor Blight in the 4th position with the Martyr ability. If this monster dies all the stats of the monster adjacent to it will increase by 1. To increase the stat of both our units the enemy must bring a unit with Sneak ability (attacking unit in the last position) to kill this unit. If the enemy does not bring any unit with the Sneak ability then Venari Marksrat will only boost the stats of Doctor Blight. The Ensnare ability will disable the Flying ability from the enemy unit.
Doctor Blight, 4th position, attacker, has the ability Affliction, Camouflage, Poison and Scavenger.Although we put this monster in the last position, monsters with the Sneak ability cannot attack it because Doctor Blight has the Camouflage ability, this monster can only be attacked when it advances to the first position. It means if the enemy brings a unit with the Sneak ability it will attack our Venari Marksrat. The Affliction ability is inflicted upon attacking the enemy (50 percent chance) if the enemy unit receives the Affliction status then that unit can't receive Heal again. Every attack has a chance of 50% to give a Poison attack. Affliction and Poison are great combos, they make the unit can't heal and must receive damage every round. Scavenger ability will increase the HP of this unit by +1 every time any unit dies. We hope after moving to the first position this monster already has high HP. This is our main attacker with Celestial Harpy as support attack.

Our Formation is finished and we are ready to battle :

Conclusion

Our Strategy working great, all like our scenario in mind :

  • Our tanker Pelacor Conjurer evades several attacks from the enemy, the enemy has difficulty killing our tanker. Our Tanker is alive until the end of the battle :
  • The enemy brings a unit with Sneak ability which kills our Venari Marksrat and boosts the stats of Celestial Harpy and Doctor Blight :
  • Because the enemy does not have any anti-magic unit Doctor Blight freely attacked the enemy with the magic attack and some enemy units got poison making it easier to kill.

With a good tanker like Pelacor Conjurer, we can win the battle although the enemy brings the same good magic attackerDoctor Blight.
