High Damage Melee With Speed Buff In Maneuvers Ruleset

Hello, Splinterlovers, how are you today. Today I will make a post again about the Splinterlands contest Battle Mage Secrets Challenge. This Week's Theme is Maneuvers ruleset.

I usually battled in the Modern Format Diamond League using my 2 scholar accounts from Balthazar scholar bltzr-wizard-710 and bltzr-wizard-711.

Ruleset

  • Are You Not Entertained, can use 1 Gladius Card.
    • The Gladius card usually can be used only in a brawl, but with this ruleset, we can use this card in battle rank. All Gladius card has Bloodlust ability, every time the monster kills the enemy monster all the stats will increase by 1.
  • Maneuvers, all monster has Reach ability.
    • Reach ability, all melee monsters can attack from the second position.
  • mana cap.
  • can use Death, and Dragon element.

My Lineup and strategy

In this battle, we decided to use the Dragon element so we could use both the Death and Dragon element units. I like Desert Dragon but am usually too afraid to use it because it's weak against attack and easy to die because it can attack only from the first position. With this Maneuvers ruleset, I can more safely use this unit with the tanker in front. In this battle, we will use melee as our main attacker, and the unit behind will support it with buff to our unid and debuff the enemy unit.

The Lineup we use :

Summoner or monsterAbilitiesDescription
Quick the Devious, Summoner. Can decrease enemy monster speed and range damage by -1We need that buff speed so our monsters have more chance to attack first and kill the enemy monster before they can attack. We already have damage in our unit we bring but we lack speed.
Djinn Chwala, 1st position, Attacker and Tanker. Has the ability Thorns, Enrage, and True Strike,With High Armor and HP, this monster is good as a tanker. The ability Thorns will damage melee monsters who attack this monster by -2. The Enrage ability will boost the damage and speed of this monster if the HP decreases. This monster always hits the target because has the ability True strike. This monster weakness is rather slow and magic attack.
Desert Dragon, 2nd position, attacker and tanker. Has the ability Trample, Piercing, Retaliate, and Giant Killer.This is our main attacker with very high damage but is weak against attack, because of the ruleset Maneuvers we can put in the back. Trample ability after we hit the enemy and kill it, it will immediately attack the enemy behind. Piercing will ignore the armor if we attack and if the enemy armor destroys the left damage will decrease the enemy HP. This unit will counterattack the enemy melee attack with a 50% chance of Retaliate's ability to activate. If the enemy brings a unit with more than 10 mana cost this unit will do double damage to the enemy unit.
Venator Kinjo, 3rd position, support. Has the ability Reflection Shield, Camouflage, Immunity, and Slow.I used it because of the Slow ability, it will decrease all enemy monster speed by -1, hope can increase the chance for our melee unit to attack first. Amplify ability will increase the damage of the Thorn ability (Djinn Chwala)w e will use in this battle by +1. The enemy monster can't attack this monster unless moves to the first position because has Camouflage ability. Immunity ability make this monster immune to all negative status like Stun, Poison, Blind, Cripple, etc.
Ravenhood Warden, 4th position, attacker, and support. Has the ability Protect, Inspire, and Fury.Use this monster because of the Protect ability which will add +2 armor to all friendly monsters. The Inspire ability will increase our melee attacker in front by +1. Fury ability will double the damage if the enemy brings a unit with the Taunt ability. Easy to die and a low-damage unit but has great buff for our main attacker.
Weirding Warrior. 5th position, attacker and support, has the ability Shatter, Amplify, and Rust abilityWe use this monster because of the Rust ability which can decrease the enemy armor by -2. and the Shatter ability will destroy the enemy armor with 1 attack. Amplify is same ability like Venator Kinjo. As an attacker, this monster only has small damage and HP.
Naga Assassin, 6th position, Tanker. Has the ability Backfire, and Swiftness.I use this monster because of the Swiftness ability which can increase all friendly monster speeds by 1. With high speed and The Backfire ability will give damage to the enemy monster if this monster can evade the enemy meele and range attack.

Did your Strategy Work?

The strategy goes well, our unit's speed is on average above the enemy unit so it has the opportunity to attack first, after the enemy magic unit Void Dragon attacks Djinn Chawala, our unit activates Enrage ability to increase the damage and speed of this unit and easily kill the first enemy tanker Chaos Agent. Mantaroth who advanced to the first position received an attack from Weirding Warrior and destroyed his armor. After that Desert Dragon attacks Mantaroth and deals double damage because it activates the ability Giant Killer (Mantaroth has a mana cost of more than 10)

We can see in the last round Desert Dragon activated the Trample ability and lucky can hit Void Dragon and immediately hit Doctor Blight behind.

With this Maneuvers ruleset we can protect our Desert Dragon by putting it behind us and win this battle.
