Splinterlands Getting Boring? Try This!

Ok the title is slightly click-baity, but hear me out. There are some people who think that Splinterlands is getting a bit boring. For those that don't challenge themselves, it's the same lineup day in and day out. Others are still playing because of the play to earn aspect, while others are here just because of the community. Let's check out a few things.

Daily New Players

Did you know, in the PeakMonsters website there is a Dashboard, that you can check out some really cool stats. Below is the total signups in the last month.

As you can see, there were only a bit more than 10% of those that signed up that actually bought the spellbooks. Currently this tells me that the game is able to capture people's interests. In the long run, we want more people that sign up to actually buy the spellbooks.

Daily Active User

In the same dashboard, you can also see the daily active users. This gives us an idea of the number of players in the game. Keep in mind that this data is not necessarily human players but bots. A friend and I even made an assumption that the actual players are only around 1/4 of the total. I don't have any idea how to get this kind of data so we were just throwing wild assumptions.

Given the daily active users and the total number of new players, we can assume that the majority of the current players have been around for a while. Hopefully more people will be onboarded so they can experience the fun of the game.

Next Major Update When?

The problem now since it's mostly old players is that some people get bored. A lot of people keep asking "wen land?", "wen modern league?", "wen new cards?" because they're bored with the current meta. There's not really much new right now if you've played the game for a considerable part of your day since Chaos Legion came out. Thus, a lot of people can't help but ask for newer things. Without the new things, it's boring to them. Yes I've mentioned the word boring several times just to add extra emphasis, but it is what it is.

How to cure boredom?

Challenge yourself. Go beyond your comfort zones. It's only by pushing yourself to really learn every facet of the game will you see yourself become a better player overall. If that doesn't work, there's always...

Take a break.

Sometimes "absence does make the heart grow fonder". Take a step away from the game and rent out your cards. Come back to it after a few days and you'd realize how much you've missed it! Who knows, you might even suddenly discover a new strategy that works for you!

My Opinion

Splinterlands can be boring for some but it only needs you to change your perspective. Focus on other things or even take a break. You do you.

I really agree with you.
I was away from Splinterlands a week and now I'm back to here.

Even nothing changed, I feel everything is new for me.
(And it took time to remember how to win..)

And if you will away from splinterlands, you can find accumilated SPS airdrops next time.
Maybe it will help you to purchase new unit.
