Pogier's Brawl Report #18: Guild Highlights!
Hi everyone! Pogier here with Brawl Report #18! This brawl was way better than my last one! If you're expecting a slight redemption arc, then yes, you're in the right place! Let's get started!
Overall Guild Performance: 3rd Place
Once again, we took 3rd place with 73 wins, 44 losses, and 0 draws. For our effort, we got 30 crowns with each participating member winning 2650 merits.
Captain's Bounty
For this brawl, the bounty has been set on Shield of Glory!
Viking Performance!
Like the Vikings of old, we must honor the warriors that secured the most victories! Let's all congratulate @CryptoCopy for smashing through their foes with a complete sweep and @LostinTime for only 1 loss!
Personal Brawl Results:
In this brawl, my score was 3 wins and 4 losses. I was assigned to Gold Level Untamed/Dice. . Let's check out my battles!
Battle Replays
Battle #1: Win
Return Fire is really OP when used properly! The enemy had 3 ranged units so the match was essentially "Why are you hitting yourself?". It was really satisfying to do so much damage each turn! It was a guaranteed win as well as my team had sustain, while the enemy units were all level 1.
Battle #2: Lose
My Strategy here was to take down the back line through my snipe ability. I was hoping to give Captain Katie enough room to grow that bloodlust but I was outdamaged by the enemy yodin. The blast on his team was too much for me too handle and I was swiftly destroyed.
Battle #3: Lose
I've fought with this comp a lot of times in the past. I've yet to find out a way to beat it since it's a pretty solid lineup especially in little league. The moment I saw the enemy team, I knew it was GG. On the bright side, I was more wary of the thorns when choosing my team so I did learn something!
Battle #4: Lose
My strategy here was to focus on decreasing the damage Quora Towershead received since I wanted to make her the main tank. However, the enemy team was completely focused on destroying me from the front so this strategy failed the moment I saw that. I will probably retry this strategy in another form. I would probably replace Orc Sergeant with a different unit. I have no idea yet but we'll see.
Battle #5 BOUNTY MATCH: Win
This was the moment of truth! I needed to win this match as it was the bounty match! This was a pretty close call for me! It was my first time using Ajax Flightfoot and I got pretty lucky in this match because of his high speed which got me some clutch misses. The MVPs of the match were Crystal Jaguar and Parasitic Growth as they the most damage in this match!
Battle #6: Lose
I had no fire units rented for brawls because Yodins are expensive. I tried this strategy of bringing beefy monsters to take in yodin damage but the amount of damage the enemy brought in was just too much. I don't have a good counter for this kind of situation.
Battle #7: Win
I was able to finally use a Mylor because of the game mode! This was the same strategy as the earlier match where Quora was the tank and this time it worked well! In the end Quora was doing up to 9 damage per turn! The enemy Kron on a last stand couldn't stand up to a bloodlust Quora!
Guildmate's Bounty Matches
@John9inch's match!
J9 in the house bringing in the flying ability in an earthquake game mode! Even if the enemy had a last stand, the amount of overall damage J9's team could do was way too much for the Unicorn Mustang. Plus, Krash Wanderford with the speed buff and flying was really solid as a tank. The enemy only got 1 hit in the entire match! This was a GG.
@cryptocopy's match!
Bringing in the Shieldbearer was a really smart choice. The enemy couldn't do enough damage to destroy the tank. Meanwhile, the other units of cryptocopy rained havoc on the enemy backline!
@monster-inc's match!
Ever seen a Quora on steroids? Monster brought her in the perfect lineup!
In the Super Sneak game mode, Quora got really beefy! She singlehandedly destroyed the backline! By the time she reached the frontline and activated the Last Stand, she could do 22 damage all by herself! All I could say was DAYUUUM.
@papadoge's match!
This was the standard Yodin Magnor team. It was a guaranteed win in the true strike game mode especially with the team the enemy brought. Just destroy them with fire power!
@urchintrader's match!
This was a very straightforward match with Urchin getting in all the kills really easily. Yodin is really OP! There's a reason it costs so much.
@no2's match!
Both of them brought summoners that would add a bonus to magic damage, but only No2 capitalized on it. The enemy was swiftly destroyed the moment the their tank died. The armor buff Venari Wavesmith brought was pretty clutch as it prevent the enemy from instantly destroying the lower HP units through opportunity.
@kalyus's match!
This match was a quick and interesting one. Both teams didn't bring in a beefy tank and opted to quickly finish the job. It just so happened that Kalyus's team had the extra armor and could do more damage per turn that eventually sealed the deal. If the enemy had a slightly tankier monster or one with flying, they probably would have won this.
@leoch's match!
I always enjoy watching these gold foil matches because they're so shiny! Good job to leoch on this team composition! They took into consideration the game mode and brought in really beefy units to counter the enemy! From the get go, it's already obvious who the winner will be. Awesome job!
Guildmate Brawl Highlights
@shallwish's match: Lost to RNG!
SW did everything right in this match. He took full advantage of the game mode but lost to one tiny thing. The moment the Phantom of the Abyss was the only one remaining, he literally evaded every single shot to kill him! If I were SW, I would've raged after this match!
Conclusion:
The Meta will be changing the next time I'm in the brawl, but it's good to know and practice! Everyone should get ready for a meta shift so best of luck!
