Using Mycelic Slipspawn to Confuse Opponent Monsters
Hello to the Splinterlands Community, I'm very happy to be here on hive playing Splinterlands Blockchain game and talking more about my gaming experience with friends. I will be sharing some insights from my latest games which I've enjoyed best.
Starting Splinterlands as a beginner can be tough, especially when battling opponents with better decks when you're just trying to start building one, and what's more, is that they understand how to better combine cards.
Brief Illustration - Who Wins Between a Baby & Several Trained Warriors (among two sides)
I recently watched an Animated Film from Walt Disney Animations called Raya and the Last Dragon, and I wanted to share a small illustration that also partly inspired this post.
Raya and the Last Dragon is a Splinded film that I've gone to watch many times. And One Good Scene that relates to a Typical Splinterlands Match (with two enemy sides) is when a Baby Character called Noi , along with her little Ongis friends are deployed on a mission to distract about Ten Trained Warriors guarding the Entrace to a Gem Piece that would bring victory close.
The Little Baby and her Ongis looked very attractive and Funny that the warriors lost all their Composure & focus while, Raya (Main Character) attacked them from behind.
This Strategy worked perfectly as it always does, So I was thinking, maybe can I do the same in Splinterlands and win against teams that are stronger than mine?
Meet Mycelic SlipSpawn
Mycelic Splispawn is an Earth Monster having the Monster Ability that is called Taunt. This ability makes all monsters in your opponents team to target Mycelic until they can destroy him. I like to think of it as a Confusion Ability as it supplies your teammates the chance to Attack and NOT be attacked in return.
Using Mycelic Splipspawn in games is a good strategy to prevent any damage to your weaker monsters and also, it can make sure that enemy monsters with Special Targeting ability are confused in their flow. For example, I observed that;
Opportunity Monsters - cannot target Monsters with the Lowest health with Mycelic Slipspawn in your team
Sneak Monsters - cannot target last position monster if Mycelic Splispawn is also on your team
Snipe Monsters - Produces the same result.
This is Perfect for us - because these Monsters(opportunity, sneak, snipe) scare me a great deal! Good thing to throw them off their game. Use Mycelic and watch how he confuses Opponents making thier strategy go to waste!.
Using Mycelic and Protecting Him
There are a few ways you can use Mycelic in your battles which includes how I use him, Our focus is to improve how well he confuses opponents in your match;
First Way: Use Mycelic with a Shield Monster (Drake of Arnak); This Strategy requires to use the Dragon Summorner along with Team Earth, and will increase mycelic tolerance and he will take some hits before it affects his health, Beware of Magic attackers in your Oppoenets team So Consider the next point.
Second Way: Use Mycelic with +1 Magic from Summorner Obsidian and this will increase Mycelic Magic attack from 2 - 3 which is perfectly deadly. (this way, even if you meet a Magic Monsters, it wont matter too much).
Summary - Too much Confusion is Good
After I discovered how challenging it will be to progress in Splinterlands Ranked League, I wanted to test out this approach after using Mycelic by chance the first time and won in a Battle I didn't expect. Since the, I've been using Mycelic more in Matches and it never fails to trip Enemies up and they lose out on whatever strategy was planned.
Mycelic Splispan is a great free card alternative to test out if you wanna switch things up from attacking to Defense + Attack!
If You're Using Mycelic Splispawn in Battles, what are your results so far?
