Wow, what a question to be answered. Well, anything you get addicted to whether paid or not, it is a bad thing.

One thing I have noticed on video game is amazing. Fun and amusement in the place of playing. I am not a fan to video games but I can testify that people get addicted to this one than the paying one. All the same, addiction is powerful and a spirit attached to it is erroneous.

Whether paid or not shouldn't let the spirit of game have control over your life.
Anything you get addicted to will definitely destroy you and render you useless to yourself and to the society as a whole.

Game addiction could be powerful to the point of causing you to loose opportunities, favours and connection. Video Gaming can create negligence from family responsibilities. If you get trapped in the gambling part, it can ruin your entire destiny.

My cousin was involved
After his secondary school, awaiting his results for entrance into the university, he was introduced to Play Station. He actually loved soccer, and this time he was playing it via the screen. His parents were wealthy, so they got him one as a reward for having the minimum credits in his external exams.

However, soon, Tony, as we fondly call him would not be playing his game at home. He preferred to go to the paid shop for it. Alas, he was drawn to gambling. In his words, they give him some goals ahead and he bets money with the expectation to win the match. That was how Tony became a gambler and that even led him to other social vices.

A once brilliant boy lost became a drop out at school;. He couldn't make it beyond his Third year in the university. That's how bad I got to know how game addiction can get to. Some nights he'll be sleep-talking about gaming teams and players. How sad!

Sad, of all he played and wasted his money, he never achieved anything good for himself neither for others. All fantasies that never satisfies.

With blockchain and cryptocurrency in place, I've heard of Play to earn games though I've not played any. It sounds good that one can play games and earn some crypto. Cool. May be one can undertake that as a job, I've heard, many are doing it. May be this writing challenge would ignite some interest in direction , but
I'll sure guard against addiction.

We should control things and not things controlling us. Play games, earn from them, don't gamble your future, be responsible too and be wise when dealing with games, if not it will deal with you.

Spirit of games is powerful, be careful.
