Trapped and desperate.

I wonder how many of us have had this feeling in our lives.

The Citrus Swallowtail was desperately flying around and trying to get out of a glass encased entrance to a bistro.

A good friend of ours sold his Bistro restaurant, as he is old and tired, plus he is battling with bad health. So, we went there to bid him farewell, and it was a rather sad occasion, as he is only 3 years older than me.
There is a glass cased entrance to the bistro that protects clients when it rains, and this butterfly flew in and got trapped in it.

Look at the top corner of the metal frame in the photo below.

Desperately the butterfly flew around, as it could see the sky, but the glass top was in its way.

This endured for a few minutes, and I am not going to bore you with all of the photos that I took of its struggle to get out.

In the meantime some woodwork was taking place nearby and I found something that I will show you below.

I had to wait for the butterfly to take a rest, and the rest is history.

As then a miracle occurred.
Look! The butterfly was finally out of the glass enclosure, as a piece of wedge wood appeared out of nowhere for it to climb on.

I am sure that it whispered a thousand thank you's to me before it flew away into freedom.

Just so it is in our lives, as at times, like a friend said to me, we all have our ups and downs. Sometimes things get so bad that we think it is all over, as there is no way out. I have also recently had such an experience, but my excuse was that it was due to the handful of pills that I have to take every day to stay alive. Suddenly our doctor gave me another different pill to drink, and now life has become bearable again.

At times I think that we care too much, not only for nature, but also for needy people. The charity world is totally different from ordinary life, as it encompasses severe struggles for survival. To make matters worse, instead of better, we have to struggle with bureaucratic red tape to get things done. We are at the moment negotiating with government ministers about our new project to feed small children that suffer from malnutrition, and at this stage, we have to contact three different departments before we can launch a pilot of the project.
Such is life, as we will just keep on banging on the doors until they open.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.
