Tammy is a very good singer at what she does. She has had many hit albums and several songs that have reached number 1 for several months. She also has many admirers and fans, who are always eager to hear about each new song she releases. But Tammy faces a big problem: all these achievements she's achieved are only in her home country. All those albums sold, all those songs that have been number one for several months, and all those admirers are only in her country. Despite years of hard work, she hasn't managed to reach international fame.

It's as if she's been invisible to the world. She's changed her technique and the themes of her songs, but neither has allowed her to continue advancing and become known to the world. She often said that people didn't like her style of singing or perhaps her culture, which inspired her music. For a while, she simply stopped trying to become more international and focused on where she was heard. And she was successful, as she almost always was, but the fact that she couldn't be better known outside her country was like a thorn in her flesh.

Tammy es una cantante muy buena en lo que hace, ha tenido muchos discos de éxito y varias canciones que han llegado a ser numero 1 por varios meses. También tiene muchos admiradores y fans y están siempre a la expectativa de cada nueva canción nueva que saca. Pero Tammy se enfrenta a un gran problema, todos estos logros que ha conseguido son solo en su país local. Muchas veces llegó a decir que es que a la gente no le gustaba su forma de cantar o quizás su cultura que era en donde se inspiraba su música. Por un tiempo solo dejó de buscar ser más internacional y concentrarse en donde si era escuchada. Y si tenia éxito como casi siempre pero el hecho de no poder ser más conocida fuera de su país era como una espina en la carne.

It felt like a thorn in her flesh because she saw her journey as incomplete. So there came a time when she couldn't bear that incomplete desire any longer and began to take action. She hired a new manager to help her understand what was happening. This manager, Rafael, was experienced in international music and someone who knew what he was doing. When they first spoke to analyze the situation, he immediately noticed what was affecting her.

But even before he could explain what it was about, she told him that if the problem was abandoning her culture in her songs, then she didn't want to be international because she was proud of her culture, and leaving it behind would be abandoning her values. But he told her not to worry, that she could continue sharing her culture in her songs; that wasn't the problem. The real problem was the language. Her language was rarely spoken around the world, so it's a major limitation for people to understand her. In fact, his language prevented him from sharing more of his own culture, so he was doing the opposite of what he liked to convey.

De hecho su idioma le impedía compartir más de su propia cultura así que estaba haciendo lo contrario a lo que le gustaba transmitir.

Tammy was very surprised because she never imagined that detail would be the biggest problem in her career. Rafael had hit the nail on the head. That point was what had limited her global reach over the years. Rafael strongly recommended that she start learning a more widely spoken language so she could increase her reach. And once she became more well-known, she could release songs in both languages ​​since people already knew her. She listened to him and acknowledged that he was right. She was glad she had hired him as her manager; she never would have imagined it.

After that important conversation, she identified the language she wanted to learn. But wanting to learn is one thing, and actually doing it is another. It was very difficult for her to start because it was all new to her. She had to take several courses and even repeat them more than once. It was a huge challenge, but if she could overcome it, it would be worth it. First, she learned to read and write in that language, then to speak it. But during that time, she spent two consecutive years learning.

The day she learned enough, she felt very happy because she had almost conquered the first big step. But she soon discovered there was another challenge. Speaking or reading wasn't the same as singing in a different language. That was a rude awakening for her after so much effort. But luckily, Rafael was always there to help her throughout the process and encouraged her so she wouldn't lose motivation, constantly reminding her of all the gains she would make.

Tammy se quedó muy sorprendida porque nunca imaginó que ese detalle fuera el gran problema de su trayectoria. Rafael había dado en el clavo. Ese punto eran quien a lo largo de los años había limitado su alcance mundial. Rafael le recomendó encarecidamente que comenzara a aprender un idioma un poco más hablado para que pudiera aumentar su alcance. Y una vez que fuera más conocida podía lanzar canciones en ambos idiomas ya que la gente la conocía. Ella le hizo caso y reconoció que tenía razón. Se alegró de haberlo contratado como manager, ella nunca lo hubiera imaginado.

Luego de esa conversación tan importante identificó el idioma que quería aprender. Pero una cosa es querer aprender y otra hacerlo. Se le hizo muy difícil empezar porque era todo nuevo para ella. Tuvo que ir a varios cursos y hasta repetirlos más de una vez. Fue un gran desafío pero si lograba superarlo valdría mucho la pena. Primero prendió a leer y escribir en ese idioma, luego a hablarlo. Pero en ese lapso pasó 2 años consecutivos para aprender.

El día en que logró aprender lo suficiente se sintió muy alegre porque casi había vencido el primer gran paso. Pero pronto descubrió que había otro desafío más. No era la lo mismo hablar o leer que cantar en un idioma distinto. Aquello fue una mala sorpresa para ella luego de tanto esfuerzo. Pero por suerte Rafael siempre estuvo ahí para ayudarla en todo el proceso y le daba ánimo para que no perdiera la motivación, contantemente le recordaba todo lo que ganaría.

After months of rehearsals, she was finally ready to create her first song in a new language. It had been a tough journey to get to this point, but she'd already accomplished the most difficult part. It took a lot of work to create the song, as she had to start over and over again due to pronunciation issues, but perseverance prevails, and she finally succeeded. She finished the song in a new language. When she released it, she immediately began to see new people and international media take an interest in it. It was the first time she'd done so. The song was a decent success, although not as massive as it was in her country, it was the beginning of something much bigger. And she was ready to break boundaries.
