Good afternoon everyone, I hope you're having a good time, or rather, a great time. I'm back to share my new story of the day with you. This one is about Kristof, who becomes a top executive at a record label. But he'll have to make some tough decisions once he's there. You'll see what he does and doesn't do. You can find out in the story, and I hope you enjoy it. So, if you're ready, let's begin.

Linda tarde para todos amigos, espero que la estén pasando bien, o mejor dicho súper bien. Estoy de regreso para compartir con ustedes mi nueva historia del día. Esta será sobre Kristof, el llega a ser un gran director ejecutivo de una discográfica. Pero tendrá que tomar dediciones una vez esté ahí. Ya verán que hace y que no hace. Even as a child, Kristof's ability to choose good music was remarkable. He would listen to all the records his parents had bought at home, featuring various artists. After listening to them all, he would tell his parents which ones he liked best and which ones were bad and not worth buying. They were very surprised because, indeed, the ones he chose were very good. He was already demonstrating that he had a good ear, and this would help him a lot later on. His parents thought he would be a singer when he grew up, but what a surprise they were in for! In reality, he didn't like to sing; he liked choosing music and seeing who was the best.

When he grew up and became an adult, he looked for work in some music studios, offering his services as a music consultant. Because he was talented, he was given several entry-level positions that later became more responsible. His first jobs consisted of simply recommending ways to improve the songs of the singers who came to the studio. In these positions, he excelled, and his opinion was increasingly valued. He eventually became the head of several of those studios. But his reputation as a good consultant was spreading rapidly. And more opportunities would soon follow.

Siendo simplemente un niño la habilidad de Kristof para escoger la buena música era muy alta. Solía ponerse a escuchar todos los discos que tenían sus padres comprados en casa de otros cantantes. Cuando los escuchaba todos les decía a sus padres cuales le gustaban más, y cuales eran malos y que no valía la pena haberlos comprado. Ellos se sorprendían mucho, porque en efectivamente los que escogía eran muy buenos. Ya el daba demostrar que tenía buen oído. Y eso le ayudaría mucho mas adelante. Sus padres pensaban que sería cantante cuando fuera grande, pero vaya sorpresa que se darían. En realidad a el no le gustaba cantar, sino escoger la música y ver quien era mejor.

Cuando creció y era un adulto buscó trabajo en algunos estudios musicales, se ofreció como consultor musical. Como tenía talento le dieron varios puestos comunes que luego fueron de más responsabilidad. Sus primeros trabajos consistían en simplemente recomendar a los cantantes que veían al estudio modos de hacer sus canciones para que quedaran mejor. En esos puestos el brilló y su opinión era cada vez más tomada en cuenta. Llegó a ser el jefe de varios de esos estudios. Pero su fama como buen consultor se estaba extendiendo rápidamente. Y pronto llegarían más oportunidades.

His superiors at the studios contacted their bosses. The studios were part of a larger record label that had recently acquired them. They informed the board of directors about Kristof's gifts and his remarkable ability to select talent. The board was quite surprised, as they couldn't understand what such a talented man was doing in a low-level position. So, they promoted him to a position on the board. His job would be to select good singers for the business—singers who could generate revenue. This was his first major promotion. In this role, he shone even brighter, selecting very talented singers before the label made significant investments in them. This only elevated his standing within the label.

In a short time, he became the company's vice president, the highest position after the CEO. The entire record label trusted his talent and had been given increasing freedom to choose singers without having to present them to the label first. In this role, he continued to demonstrate his talent. It was success upon success for the record company. The board couldn't just keep him in that position; they needed to give him complete control of the company. They wanted the best in the best position. So they made him CEO. Kristof was literally at the peak of his career.

But his position began to demand increasing responsibility. Now, the entire record label's finances rested in his hands, and any poor decisions he made could lead to his demotion if he didn't maintain the high standards he had set. So, what he had done for so long was now under considerable pressure. He trusted that his talent and skill would always allow him to persevere and do things right. But one day, something happened that tested his resolve. There was a singer with exceptional talent, according to his ear. He knew from experience that this voice, with proper guidance and support, would go far. But the assistant directors and the vice president disagreed. So, they contradicted him in front of the board of directors.

Furthermore, the singer wanted a substantial sum to finance his projects and begin making music. This decision was critical because failure would reflect poorly on him in front of the executives. This could lead to his demotion, the loss of trust from those who had appointed him, and potentially cause the record label to lose money. The stakes were high, and he knew it. But on the other hand, his keen ear told him that this singer deserved their support, and he could almost see the benefits for both of them.

It was truly difficult. People say that success lies in a multitude of advisors, but he wasn't guided by such pronouncements, but rather by experience and skill. So, after much deliberation, he decided to risk everything and finance the singer. The results of his first songs were poor, so many told him he had made a mistake and should have listened to their suggestions. But he refused to be swayed. Despite some of the heavyweights opposing him, he continued to finance the singer. The risk increased. But in the end, the singer proved them all wrong, becoming a huge success, just as Kristof knew he would. After that, he gained even more respect because his keen ear hadn't failed him. And now, more than ever, he is determined not to be guided by advisors; he prefers to put into practice what he knows and has proven. Success will continue.

Pero su puesto comenzó a exigir cada vez más responsabilidad. Ahora en su puesto toda la economía de la discográfica pasaba por sus manos, también las malas dediciones que podría tomar lo podrían hacer bajar de categoría si no seguía a la altura como había hecho hasta ahora. Fue realmente muy difícil, la gente dice que en la multitud de concejeros está el éxito, pero el no se guiaba por dichos, sino en experiencia y en habilidad. Así que luego de pensar lo suficiente decidió arriesgarlo todo y financiar al cantante. Los resultados de sus primeras canciones fueron bajos, así que muchos le decían que había cometido un error y que tenía que haber obedecido sus sugerencias. Pero el no se dejó cambiar su opinión sobre esa persona. Con algunos de los pesos pesados en contra continuó financiando al cantante. El riesgo subía. Pero al final el cantante les dio en la cara a todos siendo todo un éxito, justo como Kristof sabía que sería. Luego de eso es aún más respetado, porque su buen oído no falló. Y ahora más que nunca está decidido a no guiarse por consejeros, prefiere poner en practica lo que sabe y ha demostrado. El éxito continuará.
