How are you, friends? I hope you're all well and having a great Sunday. Well, friends, it's a pleasure to be back with you. Today I've decided to bring you a new story, one of those you've all enjoyed. For the story, I chose the R149 Frederico card, which I love for its artwork. I actually love helicopters, which is why I chose it. So, without further ado, I'll leave you with the story; I hope you like it.

Friends Frederico was known in his city as one of the best helicopter pilots. You see, he has a lot of skill in piloting under pressure and in adverse conditions. So thanks to those qualities he was often hired by various companies to be their private pilot. Currently he is associated with a private transport company that is similar to a taxi agency but in this case for helicopters. People who need a quick trip can call and they assign you a pilot with a helicopter, excuse the redundancy.

Well, in Frederico's case, before starting to work in this company he worked for the army driving different air transport ships. That was where he gained his great experience. Later, when he managed to obtain his license and get several decorations, he decided to leave the army to dedicate himself to something more peaceful and where he could continue practicing his profession of piloting aircraft. In the end he ended up working in several highly reputable private companies, until he finally arrived at the one he is now. He is in fact the best pilot in the company, so it is common for him to be given the most difficult tasks.

The truth is that every day that Frederico got up to work, as strange as it may seem, he did it with great enthusiasm, because he loves what he does and in his own opinion, flying helicopters is like having a toy for big kids. In addition to that, he likes the adrenaline of being given the most complicated jobs, because he likes to test himself, not for nothing is he the best. And finally, from time to time, he likes the peace that comes from being in the sky, because it is a different perspective of things and of how small we all are on such a big earth.

Well, these last few days have been more boring than usual for him, because the jobs he has been given are only transporting passengers in the city. So he missed something that was different, that had a little more action. What he didn't know is that precisely that was about to arrive and it would possibly be his most complicated job to date. You see, that feeling of routine was broken one morning when an unusual request arrived at the office. A woman named Ashley needed private transportation to a remote place in the country, specifically an island.

The woman looked elegant but very reserved, as if she didn't want to draw too much attention. The woman intrigued Frederico because not many people ask for private trips to remote islands. But this was a job that would break the routine he had for days, so he asked the supervisor to be the one to take the woman to the destination. And he told her, "you went ahead of me because I was going to ask you" and then they laughed. But you know, there was something in Ashley's eyes that revealed a certain urgency, even fear, although she tried to hide it behind a serene facade. Frederico didn't want to ask her at that moment but he knew that it wasn't a usual job. In fact, Ashley didn't give many explanations about the destination or the nature of her trip. What did catch the attention of both Frederico and the supervisor was that the amount of money she was offering was large, it was more than enough for the trip. Well, they just told her to sit on a chair and that in less than an hour they would leave.

When it was time to take off, Frederico, who was used to reading to his passengers, noticed that Ashley was moving restlessly, this because she was constantly looking out the window as if she was afraid of being followed. He actually tried to start a light conversation, but she did not want to answer anything regarding what worried her. In the end, everything was left there and the helicopter took off. They had to make several stops during the day to fill the fuel tank because the trip to the island was long.

Everything was going well on the trip and there were not many kilometers left but suddenly, the helicopter alarms began to sound. There was a technical failure in the engine and this forced Frederico to make an emergency landing. They had to do it on an island near the target island. It was not very big and there were no people living on it, so the two of them were alone and they had to manage together. Fortunately, despite the failure, they were able to land smoothly and the aircraft remained intact.

Once on the ground, Ashley, who had been quiet throughout the flight, finally broke her silence. And she told him, "It wasn't an accident," she said quietly, as if she was afraid someone might hear her. She confessed that she was fleeing from a powerful criminal organization that wouldn't stop until it found her. And then she feared that they had gotten ahead of her and purposely damaged the helicopter. That revelation left Frederico with more questions than answers. So since they were in that situation, she ended up telling him what was happening.

Ashley explained that her life was in danger because she had witnessed and documented a crime that implicated influential figures. She was a journalist, she had collected evidence that could bring down an entire criminal network, but that had also made her a target. What the criminal network did was steal drugs seized by the police. So there were big fish involved. She was going to the target island to leave the documents and recordings as evidence to a friend in the government who was trustworthy. That was the only safe place to meet.

In the end Frederico was a bit reluctant to get involved, but he couldn't help but feel responsible for the situation. Besides, he was part of the army so he felt a sense of duty and he didn't like corruption so in the end he ended up helping her. Now his destiny was intertwined with Ashley's.

A while later they began to work together to repair the helicopter, when they checked the engine they noticed that someone had put a wrench in the engine gears, perhaps someone did it while they were filling the tank at the last gas station at the airport. They realized that they were very lucky not to die because if the wrench had gone a little further into the engine the damage would have been fatal. A few hours later, almost at night, they managed to get the helicopter operational again. However, just when they were about to take off, the pursuers arrived at the island, they were looking for Ashley and they wanted to eliminate the evidence and kill her.

They started shooting at them when they saw them, but Frederico and Ashley took off just in time. But the corrupt policemen were not going to let them get away just like that. What followed was an aerial chase that tested every skill of Frederico as a pilot. He managed to dodge almost all the bullets, but some hit the fuel tank and they were losing gas so they knew they couldn't stay flying for long. But luckily, Frederico managed to push the other helicopter that was chasing them and ended up falling into the water. So they could breathe easy for the moment. They quickly continued towards the island that was already close.

When they finally reached the target, Matias was waiting for them. He was a trusted FBI agent who was waiting for Ashley's evidence to close the case against the corrupt agents. When they approached him, he told them, "I thought they would never arrive, I thought the worst." Ashley told him, "If it weren't for Frederico, we would have died and they would have gotten away with it." In the end, Matias told them that from now on they would be protected by FBI agents until they closed the case.

A few days later, with the evidence in hand, Matias took the case to court and managed to arrest the entire criminal network. It was bigger than he imagined, and there were agents at all levels involved. If it weren't for Ashley and Frederico, it wouldn't have been possible. In the end, justice came to all the corrupt agents. After that, Ashley and Frederico were free to continue with their normal lives. However, that adventure changed them. Now they had formed a bond of friendship, as they had made an excellent team. It didn't take long until they both started a relationship.
