The best Monday ever

Have you ever had a hangover with a friend on a Monday?

A Relaxing Public Holiday at My Friend's Place
As the public holiday dawned, I was excited to spend the day away from home and bustle of daily life. My friend had invited me to her place during the weekend ,and I was looking forward to a relaxing day with good company ( i was super excited 😄).

When I arrived at my friend'splace, I was greeted with a warm smile and a cup of hot tea andsandwich. We spent the morning lounging around her cozy living room, catching up on each other's lives and sharing stories. The conversation flowed effortlessly, and we laughed and joked like we always do.

As the day wore on, we decided to fire up some steak and cook some delicious food ( jollof rice). The aroma of freashly cooked jollof rice and juicy steak, filled the air, and our stomachs growled in anticipation, we couldn't wait to eat. We sat down to eat, savoring the flavors and enjoying each other's company.

After lunch, we took a leisurely stroll around the neighborhood, soaking up the sunshine and fresh air. The holiday atmosphere was palpable, with families and friends gathered in front of their compounds and gardens, enjoying picnics and outdoor games.

As the afternoon drew to a close, we settled back into the living room, where we spent hours chatting, gisting , laughing, and watching movies. It was the perfect way to relax and recharge.

One of the highlights of the day was when my friend pulled out her old photo albums, and we spent hours reminiscing about old times, the throwback photos were so funny 😂. We laughed over embarrassing moments, marveled at how far we've come, and cherished the memories we've shared.

As the evening drew to a close, I realized how grateful I was for friends like hers, we literally grew up together and attended the same school up to the University level. She had created a warm and welcoming space, where I felt comfortable and at ease. The day had been exactly what I needed a chance to relax, recharge, and connect with someone who matters to me.

As I prepared to leave, my friend walked me to the door and handed me a small gift. "Thanks for spending the holiday with me," she said with a smile. I hugged her tightly, feeling grateful for the friendship we share.

The public holiday had turned out to be a wonderful day, filled with laughter, good food, and great company. I wished the holiday was more than a day. I'm so fortunate to have friends like her who make life's moments so special. As I headed home, I felt refreshed, renewed, and already looking forward to our next handover together.
