Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - Ulund Resilience
Hello everyone! This is my second entry for this week's Splinterlands Social Media Challenge. Today, I'm sharing a battle of mine in Modern Champion Ranked.

I played an interesting battle in Modern Champion ranked. It shows the resilience of the Ulund team, which can recover from losing positions pretty well. Some games look like they are lost, but suddenly things turn around, and there are some Ulund cards that do it very well.

Here's the battle: https://splinterlands.com/battle/sl_ea33f20c0aa15438f7d71b1f79dbd480

This game had the following rule sets: Fog of War, Heavy Metal, and Are You Not Entertained? It was a 30 mana cap game, and only Earth and Dragon were inactive. I went with Bella Ratajowlski and placed Moribund Arrowbait in front, as usual for the Ulund team. I followed it up with the Weapons Training combination of Helmet Kharafax, Moxian Rebel, and Albahoo Forester. For the last two, I put units that could receive the Bloodline Tribute buff: Thunderous Herald and Arcane Skinwalker. Not quite the usual Ulund heavy team, but the low mana cap and Heavy Metal rule set didn't allow 4 or 5 buff targets. They opted for Fithe Bladestone and started with the very nice combination of Cavewise Wayfinder and Vicious Giraffe. Next, they had Forked-Tongue Sage, Ferrous Brewer, and Fizbo the Fabulous. They finished the team with Blazebeard Merc.

Ambush Round
Cavewise's attack only managed to take out 2 armor out of my Moribund, but it also buffed the Giraffe.

Round 1
The Giraffe's attack finished the Moribund's armor, and after a couple more attacks, it went down for the first time. Fizbo killed it for good and Healed back the Cavewise. The rest of their attacks also put Kharafax down to 2 HP.

Round 2
The Mer took 2 from Burning, but it didn't spread. Cavewise finished Kharafax, but my two buffed units avenged it. The Merc got the kill on Rebel and the Giraffe went down to 3 HP.

Round 3
Burning put the Merc to 2 HP, but it didn't spread once again. The Giraffe took out my Albahoo. It was 2 vs. 5; however, Skinwalked finished the Giraffe, and the Herald eliminated the Forked-Tongue Sage thanks to Execute, making it 2 vs. 3. Herald survived the enemies' attacks thanks to the Shield provided by Bella.

Round 4
Since the Merc couldn't get a kill to trigger Bloodlust, it died to Burning. My two units killed the Brewer, leaving only Fizbo on their side.

Round 5
It just took one attack to close the game here.

This game didn't look good for me. They were getting kills faster, and the Weapons Training combination didn't do much because of the Cavewise's Void. The difference between the two teams is that mine got better as the game progressed because the two back units would have 2 buffs, while the Burning would eventually kill the Merc. And they were lucky it didn't spread to Fizbo. Another important thing in the Ulund strategy is that while Moribund is obviously the most important unit, since without it, there's barely any synergy, the Herald is probably the second most important one. Skinwalker is amazing, and some of the more mana-heavy units bring important angles of attack; however, Herald's Relentless Strike provides a unique way to break through units with Void. Execute can also be excellent when it is able to kill units it otherwise couldn't.

What do you all think about this game? Would you have done anything different? Let me know in the comments! Thank you for reading!!
