Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - Sustain Battle
Hello everyone! This is my second entry for this week's Splinterlands Social Media Challenge. Today, I'm sharing a battle of mine in Modern Champion Ranked.

I fought an interesting battle in Modern Champion ranked. This battle was very long, and it turned out to be a crazy battle of attrition! It included various types of heals, Repair, and several ways to reduce damage! It lasted for a long time at a stalemate, and it looked like it was going in one direction, but eventually the momentum changed.

Here's the battle: https://splinterlands.com/battle/sl_7a42b395b09f32cccc32eb05fcd60425

This game had the following rule sets: Equalizer and Broken Arrows. It was a 60 mana cap game, and only Dragon and Death weren't available. I went with Eternal Tofu and put Mantaroth in front. I followed it up with Venka the Vile and Meriput Magician. Next, I had Olivia of the Brook and Arcane Skinwalker. I finished the team with Bellowmancer. They opted for Fithe Bladestone and also started with Mantaroth. Arcane Skinwalker and Conclave Tracker were next, followed by Vena and Inept Healer. Their last one was Bera Dallin. I gave Scavenger and Triage to Olivia.

Rounds 1 to 8
Most of the damage was getting healed, on both sides, during all of these rounds. They were able to heal every single one of their units that got damaged, which was very useful. It came at a cost, though. Corrupted Healing takes away 1 max HP whenever it heals a unit. Bera, Venka, Mantaroth, and Arcane Skinwalker were slowly decreasing their max HP. The problem, for me, was that they were able to do one more damage point than I could heal and Repair Bellowmancer, per round. My hope was to get Corrupted Healing on Olivia before Bellowmancer died, but I didn't. In round 8, they took out my Taunt unit. Mimic had granted Olivia with True Strike, Armored Strike, Trample, Phase, Piercing, Shapeshift, and Oppress. All pretty much useless until this point. Silence, Repair, and especially Corrupted Healing would have been much better. Even Blast and Inspire would have been better.

Rounds 9 to 11
Olivia gained Corrupted Healing one round too late to save Bellowmancer. It was still a very nice ability for my team! The game continued in a stalemate until I finally took out their Mantaroth in round 11.

Round 12
Olivia eliminated Bera. At this point, their team was falling apart. Mantaroth also took out their Skinwalker.

Round 13
Olivia killed Venka, and Skinwalker got rid of Conclave Tracker.

Round 14
With only Inept Healer left, Venka quickly finished the game.

Equalizer can create some very slow games. This was one of them, and both players embraced it. Corrupted Healing is very strong; however, in a game where no one can build an advantage, the reduction of the max HP eventually adds up. If one of us had Affliction, it would have been game-winning. I will have to keep that in mind in these types of games. It would be difficult to change any unit on my team as they all serve a purpose. Honestly, the weakest one is probably Venka. But it could have been useful against other teams. On their side, Conclave Tracker is the weakest member. It only has Repair going for it, but Mantaroth also has Repair. If they had a unit with Affliction instead, I would have lost.

What do you all think about this game? Would you have done anything different? Let me know in the comments! Thank you for reading!!
