Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - Showcasing Moribund Arrowbait
Hello everyone! This is my first entry for this week's Splinterlands Social Media Challenge. Today, I'm sharing a battle of mine in Modern Diamond Ranked.

I fought an interesting battle in Modern Diamond ranked. Modern is a different format now, without Chaos Legion and with Conclave Arcana. I used Moribund Arrowbait in this battle as my main strategy. This is a legendary Life unit that costs 4 mana and has magic and ranged attacks. It also had Relentless Strike. However, most of the time, that ability and attacking are irrelevant. This unit is played for the Bloodline Tribute and Rebirth. Why is Bloodline Tribute so important? Because it is the "new Martyr" ability. It is more restrictive because it only applies to units of the same Bloodline and shared attack types, but at the same time, it can provide buffs to units that aren't next to it. Since it has Rebirth, it can give the buffs twice without needing any other support unit with Resurrect. I used two Ulunds in the back, although only one of them shared an attack type. It's also possible to use units with Shapeshift to get the Bloodline Tribute buffs from any unit with that ability, but I didn't in this game. For those players on a budget, you can acquire this card at level one, and it already has Bloodline Tribute. Please don't bother with any other level, unless you can go to max level, since it gets the Rebirth. To better make use of these Ulunds, I decided to use Bella Ratajowlski and because I was expecting to face Eternal Tofu.

This game had the following rule set: Melee Mayhem. It was a 19 mana cap game, with only Fire and Dragon inactive. I went with Bella Ratajowlski and placed Moribund Arrowbait in front, to increase its chances of getting killed first. I followed it up with Halfling Refugee and Frigid Wolf. I finished the team with the 2 Ulunds: Stampeding Calf and Runic Skychonk. They opted for Eternal Tofu. Halfling Refugee and Thunderhoof Nomad were their first units. Next, they placed Blackmoor Jinx and Venka the Vile. They finished with Elanor Bravefoot. They gave Triage and Scavenger to Venka.

Round 1
Their first 2 attacks took out my Moribund once. My two Ulunds attacked and killed their Halfling, while my other two units took out the Nomad.

Round 2
Venka was unable to bypass the Moribund again because Bella provided Shield to Ulunds. She even finished their Jinx before the rest of my team eliminated Venka.

Round 3
With only Elanor left on their side, one attack was enough to finish the game.

Despite my opponent playing Eternal Tofu, my team countered theirs with Bella giving the whole team Deflect and also Shield to my 3 Ulunds. The Moribund was meant to die twice, but the high armor and Shield allowed its survival after the Rebirth. It's great that Conclave Arcana has more ways to fight against Eternal Tofu. It's not a hard counter, though. I have lost several times with Bella against Tofu. She simply protects against its most powerful ability, but it has so many! I was correct in my expectations of my opponent, so I was able to capitalize. I do get it wrong often, so it's not as easy as it sounds.

What do you all think about this game? Would you have done anything different? Let me know in the comments! Thank you for reading!!

Flawless win. I like the armored strike a lot. It just gives you one extra surprise attack.
