Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - 99 mana FabFour

Hello everyone! This is my second entry for this week's Splinterlands Social Media Challenge. Today I'm sharing a battle of mine in Modern Diamond Ranked

I fought an interesting battle with 99 mana but only 4 monsters allowed. It's not as sad as seeing 99 mana with Little League but you have to play with the cards you're dealt!

This game has the following rule sets: Tis but Scratches and FabFour. With 99 mana, I usually want to play Dragon because it has a lot of powerful high mana monsters. I went with Lily Shieldpaw and put Arkemis the Bear in front. I wanted to play Rage and Chaos Dragon but I was unsure about the last slot. I could have gone with Carnage Titan or Runic Skyclaw but I opted for Grimbardun Smith, next to Rage. It would be a good second tank and possibly provide a longer life to Arkemis with the Repair. They chose Lorkus as their summoner, another powerful one but it doesn't give them access to the Dragon cards. They put Night Ghoul in front with Immolation in the second spot. They had Usut in the third and Raa in the back.

They gave Life Leech and Affliction to the 2 back monsters. No monsters died in round 1 but my Arkemis was left with just 4 HP. My damage was a bit more spread out. In round 2, they killed the Bear with Usut, but I was able to finish their Taunt with Grimbardun. In the next one, Immolation was in the front with 5 HP, which was perfect for Rage to take it out. My Grimbardun died to Usut in round 5 and their monster grew to 6 attack. The Void ability of Rage would be very important here. Chaos Dragon hit Raa for exactly 4 damage, making it my 2 monsters against their Usut. I didn't stick the Affliction right away, but I was able to in round 7. Usut might be powerful but Rage was Life Leeching for 3 every turn, exactly the damage it was taking from Usut. Eventually, I would win, even if I couldn't get Affliction quickly.
