Battle of the Day #13

This is a ranked Diamond match. The game has the following rule sets: Ferocity and FiveAlive. My summoner was Jacek and Arkemis the Bear my tank. I put Baron Fyatt and Djinn Inferni as my magic attackers. Baron Fyatt because of the Halving, Ambush but also the Blind which combines very well with the rest of my team. Djinn Inferni hits hard and can sometimes take out a monster with one attack if they have low health or cost 10 or more mana. For the speed control, I ended the team with Supply Runner and Countess Sinash. Their Summoner was Ilthain and they opted for the great combo of Silverblade Fighter and Jared Scar. After that, they placed Iziar for the Taunt and Martyr. Venka the Vile was their fourth monster and the final one was Commander Goff. It buffs 3 of their monsters and has a Resurrect for Iziar. There's good synergy on both teams.

Baron hit Venka in the Ambush phase, which wasn't great for me because now it would deal 4 damage to Arkemis instead of 1. In round 1 no monsters died. However, Jared Scar was Halved, Venka was almost dead but my ranged monsters were taking heavy damage, especially Countess because of the Return Fire. In the next round, Arkemis took out their tank and made them use the Resurrect on it. Djinn Inferni took out Jared Scar and Countess killed Venka, but died in the Return Fire. In round 3 Supply Runner killed their tank for the second time and Inferni had an excellent hit on Iziar for 10 damage. It has Void but the combination of Ferocity and Giant Killer generated a crazy attack. It also Stunned. Baron finished it. It was just Goff against 4 of my monsters. As if that wasn't enough, Arkemis Halved it, Inferni Stunned it, and Baron ended the game.

I won the game despite having 2 ranged monsters against Ilthain. The biggest lesson I can take is that Baron Fyatt has poor synergy with Arkemis the Bear.
