Splinterlands Social Media Challenge: Reasons to Level up Skrag the Gnaw
Greetings,
How are you doing?
I hope that you love the new set of cards being release to all players in the game who stay active and join the event.
The new cards have interesting abilities that we will highlight on Skrag the Gnaw.
Melee warrior from the Soulbound Conclave arcana set, Gnaw is a hearth elementary type of fighter. His capability to resist and deliver strike from up close is astonishing.
I would not define a position for this card early in the analysis of this statistic, but it is a serious warrior to keep close to your favorite melee offensive player in the team combo.

Rulesets of the best battle

Only melee units can enter the arena

Zero armor and no gain of armor

Only warriors with even mana cost can enter the arena
Mana value: 44
I looked for combat to review the performance of Skrag in action, but it was too soon in my opinion. The players are still figuring out the role Gnaw is going to play in their selection.
My plan was to explore the best position a player in Gold league or Diamond should consider placing Gnaw in the regular circumstance of combat.
I did not find as many combats as I would like to collect enough data and propose the summary of the observation done in the arena.
Here the elements I got to share with you..
A. Consider the Statistic of your cards
The combat is set in a regular environment, where the rulesets are not too complex for the proposition of a stable combination of cards.
Melee had the control in this combat the mana restricted access to the battlefield as only qualified warriors had permission to enter the arena.

| Palesworn | ![]() | Guard | ![]() |

Melee warriors in this combat has enough potential to propose multiples lessons to learn from the preset combination of cards. Tofu added special offensive ability in the combat.

The melee warriors on the battlefield could only protect themselves with armor. The ruleset prevent the utilization of armor or the addition of similar defensive measures.
Tofu with the thorn ability given to all ally in the arena could create the difference but the opponent had leveled up his comrade to the point their life point could resist the backfire.
Gnaw could not resist the persistent assault on his position and lost his position.
The second battle showed a different scenario, where Gnaw could play an important role if leveled up to the right rank of experience.
I beleive that the resurrection and thorns abilities should be a must to unlock as you level up your Gnaw.
In this combat Hearth summoner had similar level and the team looked almost the same on both places. In the ruleset the melee operation should be limited but the magic attacks on the other hand caused a lot of damage.

Gnaw was in the third position waiting his turn to contribute in this combat but his performance was not great against magic warriors.

This combat should indicate the importance to share the good performance and the worst action of your cards in various scenario so terrible mistake can be prevent during the team construction.

B. Will you consider Level up your Skrag
After the review of two combat with Gnaw, I am sure you are not considering adding this warrior to your collection. Despite the low performance recorded so far it is important to mention the basic statistics of the warrior.

In this series of cool abilities you can see the relevant action to level up your warrior to the maximum.

Here you will see the opposition of Wayfinder to the assault from Gnaw. It is a large gap in experience between these two warriors, but Gnaw showed potential.

--
Support from his allied could create severe changed in the out come of the battle regardless of the need of unlock alll the abilities at this stage of the game.
Void ability given to all the fire element summoner created the difference in this combat.
Gnaw is weak in the situation magic attack dominates in the arena. This card will need support from his team members to protect his operation in front row.
