Splinterlands Social Media Challenge: Gottem Gearnut Imposing Presence on the battlefield

How are you doing great warrior in splinterlands?
It is a bit cold here but the warm cheering chant coming from the arena is the motivation to all curious mind attracted to the power of the splinters wonders.
In this edition of the social media challenge I invite you to visit the powerful introduction of Gearnut in the arena.
This mana voracious warrior can play against an entire team of four to five cards.
Despite the large mana required to use this card I could find numerous battles where his presence was sign of power in some cases or a limitation in other situations.
Let's discover the impressive role Gearnut has offered to Splinters who invoqued this card in theirs setup.

This combination on the battlefield is rare game where so many powerful cards come together to deploy their power.
A. Stronger Team Ever on the Battlefield
It is not so common to get 84 mana point as limitation of all your cards in the setup.
When it happens, you see exceptional cards appearance in the arena. You have enough power in your collection to challenge such opposition in the battlefields.
The earthquake caused serious damage to the enemy each time the arena shakes. The investigations of the cards on each team will help us understand what is happening in the arena.

The loose mana presence as a rule set showed the rapid adaptation of the warriors ready to build a serious lineup.
Terrific monster such as Tofu, Thanalor and Gearnut were in the arena. The opposite side called Drath a combination of fire associated with earth fighters.

B. Strenght and Power in the Arena
In this battle you can see how the player put to use the health point on the Gearnut tanker in action on the front row.
The strategy was simply to boost the offensive characteristic of Gearnut to the point he destroys any opposing force in the arena.
It is important in this strategy to consider the damage cause by the enemy but also the battlefield rule set such as poison.
Gearnut succeed in his mission to recover most of his health each round due to triage and the opponent did not possess enough health point or recovery mechanism to survive the earthquake on the board. Tofu team won easily.
C. Games Showing Gearnut Strength in the arena.
In the following battles you will see the potential of Gearnut not only in a battle where the players chose to combine the nice set of cards to execute a similar strategy and one different situation where the team lost the battles.
- One amazing line with Gearnut
In this battle, you can see the set up from each side of the board ready for battle. The heavy cards on the board could cause up to 20 points of damage each round.
Gearnut by the end of this combat had on his melee offensive point 8. It could cause damage to the enemy that is double the initial attacks. The poisonous gas boosted this attack points and corrupted healing restored the health point of Gearnut to maximum. The round 4 was a key moment in this combat when the opponent strong magic attacks could not survive the damage caused not only by Razi team but also the poison in the arena.
- Gearnut comrade can suffer losses
In this combat Gearnut had enough abilities on his side to protect his line from magic damage. However, there was one element that was not considered in the strategy.
The absence of any healing abilities severely diminished the potential of Gearnut to serve as tanker in the front row.
It was a good battle, where Gearnut lost against a normal team dragon and water warriors.
If one cards with corrupted healing replaced one of the archer in the team the result would be totally different.

Gearnut is a warrior of special occasion. His contribution in Champion League is not negligible. If you know the right way to use his power, the arena will remember your passage.
If you plan to use Gearnut in the lower league of combat be careful because the mana limitation in the lower league is regularly below 50 mana. it can go up to 70 or 99 but it is extremely rare.
