Splinterlands Social Media Challenge: Arcana ShowDown In the Arena

It is a beautiful day here in my city. It is a pleasure to congratulate all the players and fan of Splinterlands for the presale phase and now the opening of packs from Arcana Conclave set of cards.

I have started opening some of my packs, but I'm still gathering potions to maximize the results after flipping this hidden assets in the Arcana packs.

The battle in the modern league will intensify and arcana are going to play a major role in the new definition of the leaderboard.

Here is the reason players should rapidly develop battle strategies to survive what is coming...

Rulesets

All units with no fly ability are doom to suffer damage each round unless a special protection is applied to the cards

No units with range allowed on the battlefield

Attacks never miss

Mana value: 36


A. Crowed battlefield

It is the first battle I am going to describe where Arcana magnificent power is deployed on both side of the board. It is a magnificent combat where I get to see the new style of strategies in their early conception and refinement.

The first team had gathered his units with careful consideration of the battlefield ruleset. Magic and flying monsters were the best option. Although the Xiao team did not choose this path, the slightly different plan caused the shift of power against Lorkus team.

It was super cool to see this subtle combination of cards from Arcana in the arena. I do not have enough cards to compete even at this level. However, I am convinced that with careful analysis I will get cool cards from the market.

The warriors on the following group had played the strategy of complete auto destruction if the opposition developed a plan to counter the poison.

Earthquake on the arena had one objective to highlight the potential of flying ability on cards. What happened in the arena showed the necessity to play above the current set of rules.

B. Xiao Brought you Poison

Lorkus had all the good cards to handle poison and magic attacks. Xiao team was affected by the earthquake. Its situation in the arena was going to be critic unless something destabilized the opposition. Lorkus additional magic point did not work due to "Silence" then the presence of "Reckless", Inspiration, "Poison Burst" and "Painforce" completely changed the outcome of the battle in the arena.

Finale Fought

Lorkus selection had the good warriors to secure the victory in this combat. The weakness came from the lack of health recovery in his selection. In this circumstance, I doubt that healing or tank healers could change the situation to the Lorkus advantage.

Xiao Poison Burst successfully destroyed the enemy life point by poisonous infection. Melee and inspiration boosted the offensive from the backline. It is dangerous to ignore the earthquake damage on the Xiao side. I think that this spirit of high risk pushes Xiao team to the victory.
