Custom challenge is a second way to enter the battle and test your best lineup against an opponent in the arena. The particularity with the custom challenges is that before inviting your opponent, you have the access to set up preliminary condition before even selection of cards.

It is so much exciting to provoke in duel your friends and put the burden to match up the condition of duel then secure the victory in at the end of the combat.

I will share with you the different option available to build a strong team whether it is an invitation from your side or you are the lucky Splinter to receive a custom Challenge.

A . Aspects of Custom Challenges that can be customized.

New Challenge Open Menu

If you fill like you want to propose a duel to your friend on Splinterlands it is a simple process to follow.

You will see on the main menu of Splinterlands after entering your account details, a line under your avatar and username.
On that line it is clear to read Challenge, Practice and How to play.

You can start a New Custom Challenge by clicking the "Challenge" section in that line.

Once the menu to set up your challenge appears, you can enter the name of your opponent, The mana cap limitation you would like the players to respect during the card's selection.
There are also possibility to choose the type of cards allowed in this challenge when you click on the arrow Allowed cards.

The summoner level in this challenge can be set
base on your favorite level from novice to expert so that your team has a greater chance to compete.

The last option on this window is the rule sets' personalization. It is optional, which means the selection can be random, or the challenge creator can define the particular type of rules he desires to force on his opponent.

It is important to note that the mana cap option is also optional. You can let the system randomly define the number required for the challenge after pressing the "send" button.

I will try to fill and submit a challenge to one of the player in my battle history. It is a random splinter that I chose to practice this Custom Challenge dual.

Splinter should know that the opponent can reject your custom challenge invitation.

It is possible to choose the element that should be activated during the challenge too.

B . How to challenge other players.

If you tweak the option of customization to the point, only the sender has the highest chance to win the invitation will be rejected.

In this example, I will keep the section for optional setting empty for the fun of this example.

If nobody pick up my challenge after three trial, I will wait for a member of my guild to join me when the time is right in this challenge.

It works finally when I went to the Peakmonsters battlechain and selected player in the silver league who have submitted a battle in less than 5 minutes.

I have tried multiple combination to find Splinter ready to challenge me but it was not successful when I was searching in my Diamond League.

My target then shift to the silver league players. The condition of combat should match the league where the custom challenge is submitted, otherwise the players can ignore or reject the challenge.

In silver league I found a match where a splinter did an exceptional job in the arena.

Open Battle with level one summoner

The rule sets were clear and the choice for one summoner was not easy since all the monsters look strong.

I went for the addition of range attack since I have the close range. I put some protection in case the opponent use archer and double strike his position.

My plan did not factor in the present the magic cards so it was a grave defensive breach in my selection.

Protection shield was not going to stop the magic strike to hit my life point so I lost many powerful attackers during the first and second round..

Final thoughts

It is each to submit a challenge customized to active Splinters in the game when you are ready to share your request. I would propose to message your friends on Hive or other social network so that they confirm their availability to accept the challenge.

There is a good deal of customization available that it can be less attractive if the opponent does not have enough cards to match the battle requirements, which leads in many occasion to the rejection of the challenge.

In my case, I found a fun way to get a silver league player to join my customized challenge. Peakmonsters Battle chain exploration helped me find an active player in the last five minutes.
