Staying Focused In A Loud World

In a world where technology has taken over literally every corner, and social media is the order of the day, proper focus seems to be difficult as a common notification from the gadgets I use pose a risk of distracting me from focusing and doing what i'm supposed to do.

It seems like mobile devices are the enemy but the truth is, they were made to make life easier for us not to distract us or make us addicted to it.

These days its really difficult to concentrate and do one thing because the distractions around me are too much. Its either i get a notification from my phone, or my colleagues calls me to do something that doesn't make sense. Its quite frustrating at times ya'know.

This post is an entry for India United Contest, How do you Stay Focused in a World Full of Distractions?. In this post, i will write on the little things i do that helps me stay focus on anything i set out to do.

Most times, due to the environmental factors, its difficult to stay focused. I may want to read a book now, but due to the noise from neighbors or social media notifications, i would lose focus and end up watching a reel all through the day. Sometimes, i realize myself and go back to reading the book.

To stay focus, I strictly choose my place of residence. I prefer a quite place with no sounds at all, not even sounds from birds or other animals or insects. I prefer in an absolutely quite place so that i can relax and collect my thoughts properly. If i'm in a place where there is sound, i would not be able to concentrate. Instead of doing what i need to do, the sound will make me really frustrated. I hate noisy places.

Another thing i do is to make sure i get good sleep before i start anything. Lets say i have a task that i need to focus on by 9pm, I would take a shower and sleep by 5pm so that i would wake up by 8pm and start preparing for the task ahead. When i start preparing, i would make sure that my mobile devices are all switched off.

To me, good sleep before starting a task aids ultimate concentration and i would do that task flawlessly. I get a lot of inspirations after a good quality sleep.

These are the things i do to stay focused in a loud world.

Different things work for different people, quietness doesn't really help me focus entirely ,it might help but only to an extent...

Yes, good sleep is important to aid ultimate concentration and we must not deprive ourselves of that if we truly want a desired outcome.

I learned the act of studying in a noisy environment during my days in school to avoid the excuse of not studying. It has become part of me. Different strokes for different folks.

Phones and social media are the biggest distractions. I quite agree with you.
