Hey everyone, I hope you're doing well and have great success in your battles! The start of a new season is always pretty rough and I see a lot of decks higher than my deck but still, my win rate is at 50% so far so I can't complain 🙂

This morning when I already drained enough energy on my Modern ranked play, and saw the MarkBoye accounts come online again I decided this is a good time to stop ranked and switch to the Free2Play Frontier Mode, although it's free and the cards are limited I think it's still a fun mode and it brings back the memories of the time when we had daily quests and chests to open.

Almost my entire Frontier deck is still at Novice level but I did earn a couple of nice epics to make my teams stronger, and this morning I pulled another one I didn't have, a 50 cent card for playing a Free2Play game!

No way I'm going to sell this card, it makes me more competitive and now I pushed in to Silver 3 so I can earn better rewards to hopefully snowball this and get higher soon.
So, if you haven't already, test it for yourself, even for experienced players it's fun and I think we as veterans have an advantage because we see the obvious plays and line-ups faster, have fun!

My most remarkable moment is a battle I had at the end of last season, a week ago from making this post, it's against a well known name for me, it's Isaac777NFT and I think they have a 90% win rate against me, because they have a really nice deck with much higher level cards than I use.

Sharing a battle

The battle I saved for this post is a 45 mana Modern League, Going the Distance / Deflection Field battle with only the Earth, Life and Dragon splinters available, when Earth / Life is available I always use the same tactic because it's really, really effective 😁 Seeing who my opponent is made me doubt about my success though because with this tactic, I can't use my Legendary Rebellion Archons, so I don't have any Archon tactics to bend the battle outcome a little bit my way if that's required.

First look at the battlefield:

Damn, those are some really pretty cards, I mean I like my Gold Foil Caravan Guard, but that's a Black Foil, and with the Echo ability it heals twice every round. The enemy team is doing a lot of damage so maybe my tactic will fail this time... 😅

The main part of this tactic is really simple; triple headwinds to do -3 ranged damage and then use Gallicus with Shield and Taunt to stop incoming damage, the damage that gets trough is healed by my Caravan Guard. All cards with the Headwinds ability are for sale, but the legendary Gallicus is a reward card, and you need three copies so it receives the Shield ability at level 2, unbound versions are for sale but when I writing this post, only THREE copies are available on the market for around $9.50 per copy so they're not cheap, if available at all!

A couple of months ago, I was lucky enough to pull a Gold Foil version, it looks very pretty in my team! 😍

My Line-Up:

• Archon: Chuul Jujinchi - reason: Combine the Earth and Life splinter.
• First position: Quilliun Legionary - reason: Close Range.
• Second position: Anachron Bolter - reason: Headwinds plus a two attack type monster is always nice.
• Third position: Fenmoor Wood Troll - reason: Headwinds.
• Fourth position: Gallicus - reason: Taunt with Shield.
• Fifth position: Silverleaf Ranger - reason: Double Strike with three damage is nice!
• Sixth position: Caravan Guard - reason: Headwinds with Triage.

The Battle:

Round 1: So far, not much has happened, it takes time to get trough the units with Taunt, but hopefully Isaac won't get trough my Taunt, because if they do, my plan failed. 😅

Round 2: The double healing of the enemy Taunt is pretty annoying, it takes a lot of time to get trough it but most attacks don't do any damage against my Taunt, and nothing my Caravan Guard can't heal so it's looking good!

Round 3: Game on! The enemy Taunt is killed, hunting season is open!

Round 4: This will only take some more time but this is definitely a win for me, always cool to win against such a nice team!

Round 5: Hmmm.. the Shield combined with Heal is a little annoying, but when my Silverleaf Ranger isn't exhausted because of the Weary ability, I will get trough it.

Round 6: Hmm... exhausted... hopefully it rested enough next round!

Round 7: And there she goes! Bye!

Round 8: The kill shot was made by my Anachron Bolter, and not only did I win, I won with my full team standing without any damage! 🙂

A nice almost 4 SPS reward, and over 300 glint, not as much as I got before the rating inflation is fixed but I'll take it!

One Million Glint

On a side note, one more pretty amazing thing that happened when the last season ended...

I'm saving up my glint in preparation for the next reward set and I crossed the one million mark! That looks pretty cool!
