Hey everyone, I'm making my second post for this week back to back because it's a Saturday already, which I consider the latest for me to launch my Splinterlands posts at, but due to regular life getting in the way, kids having a two week holiday break from school and busy work days I'm a bit overdue making them, I always try to spread my posts over the days of the week but lately I'm having some issues with this, well, without further ado, let's get going!

This post is made to take part in the Weekly Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge, and the task for this week is to make another post about the Conclave Arcana Pre-Sale.

All Splinterlands players already know but if you're reading this just as someone who's not a player yet but is interested in the game, (why would you read this if you weren't) a major milestone is about to be reached where in short, mistakes from the past will be set straight again, more players will be playing in the lower leagues again like it was meant to be.

The launch of the new set is getting very close and the Pre-Sale is ending in ten days on May 13th, buying packs in the Pre-Sale is the only way the get your hands on the two promo cards which will not be available in the main sale.

To be guaranteed of them, you need to spend 40k DEC for the Skinwalker and 400k DEC for Gramel.
Personally I have bought 10 standard packs to get to the required 40k to at least get the Skinwalker and support the team which is doing amazing work with all the improvements to the game, respect to all of them!

Leaderboard

Looking at the leaderboard, with a modest investment myself I'm currently barely in the top 500, meaning there's a lot of players who spent more than $40 on the pre-sale so that's awesome, Modern League will be a totally different place!

The top three is still the same as last week, but Zoicsash and Abrockman have switched places, for not Splinterlands players, the number 3 on the list, Yabapmatt is the CEO of the Splinterlands company so I think it's a great sign he's going so heavy in to the new set.
The top 6 will be able to design their own summoner but as Yabapmatt already said in the TPG Podcast he's probably doing something to give this privilege to someone else, this top 6 alone has spent a whopping $240.000 so far!

Zig when other's Zag

Being one of the people who are still playing with cheap high level Chaos Legion cards, I didn't go heavy in Rebellion at all until like six months ago to prepare for the new rotation when Chaos Legion rotates out of modern. I prepared for this by building a close to max Silver level Rebellion set, this is only a relatively small set and I haven't played a whole let with it so basically it will be a completely different experience once the rotation happens.

Looking at the game long term, and realizing every 18 months a new set will launch, taking it's place from the oldest of the two current modern sets but LAND will be here forever, I've chosen to dedicate most of my funds to expanding my land allocation for now and not go heavy in to Conclave Arcana for now, because I have a strong Rebellion set including reward cards I hope I can be competitive and be the unexpected opponent hopefully, when most players fight with Conclave Arcana cards.

I realize, there WILL be need to have cards that synergize really well with Rebellion so I will be buying them from the secondary market.

Some new cards I've seen this week

So, the problem with some card reveals is it only shows the max stats, but 80% or more players won't be able to afford max level play, being a silver player myself I'm more interested what a card stats will be at silver level.

I've seen Folen Flameye on X this week, an Epic earth card with Thorns and Flank at silver level, a nice tank and with the flank ability you can put another melee card behind it, like the Endless Ape.

Another card I've seen this week is from the fire team, it's Oridum Graybrow, a legendary melee unit with 4 melee damage at the silver level and who also has thorns, a lot of thorns in this set? Together with Tofu, unit's with deflection shield like Commander Slade will be very important.

The ability icons have been changed from an image I had saved to I don't know what the second ability is just yet, let's see in ten days, exciting times are ahead!

One more!

Leolin Sifu is another Epic unit but this one is on the Life team, I didn't do a lot of research in the new abilities just yet, I like to just experience it as it launches but the second ability is relentless strike I think, which is about the same as true strike, but yet it has both so there will definitely be something different between them I have yet to find out. It also brings speed at silver level so that's always very nice.

With 6 armor, this can be a nice card to put in the second position behind one of the flank units with Elias Max Pruitt as the summoner to give it armored strike and piercing!

How do you think this set will impact your personal strategy?

Well, it's going to be HUGE, I think it will be for everyone but especially for the players like myself, currently playing with a 'cheap' Chaos Legion set in the upper regions, we can't afford this high level play anymore so we will be forced to play in the lower leagues or transfer to Wild League.

I want to keep participating in Modern League myself, and I was a Silver player for most of my Splinterlands career anyway so I don't mind at all, and because I'm not the only one facing this problem, I hope and expect the lower leagues will be played by a lot more people again.

The fact that in ten days, overnight 80% of the people currently playing in modern with Chaos Legion decks won't be able to do so anymore will have massive impacts and maybe will give some match liquidity problems in the first days? The reward pool will get shared with a lot less players in the first couple of days or maybe weeks, who knows!

Currently I'm manually playing two accounts in Diamond, this will change to only one manual account and leave the other one to XBOT in wild, giving me some more time for other things, or maybe bring another account online to help our second guild fill brawl frays as long as this is needed by the lack of enough active players.

Brawl frays will also change!

There was a SPS Proposal vote at some point discussing the topic about how brawl frays will change after the rotation and I haven't followed the outcome about it but while everyone is concentrating on ranked play, I think the change in brawls will be big as well when the change discussed in the voting will happen, hopefully especially in the lower brawl tiers, there will just be a modern / wild separation without any specifics for which set because it's already difficult for most guilds filling the frays with a lack of dedicated active players, with the launch of the main sale as well as the marketing and hopefully an influx of new players this too will get better, but small guilds like the ones I run don't have a lot to offer compared tp the big guilds but community and making friends.
