Hey everyone and welcome back to my Splinterlands blog post, I can't believe how fast the weeks are flying by because it's already another Thursday - my regular day off and the day I have extra time to make posts like these, I usually don't do more than one posts a day because Azircon told me it's better not to, but I don't want to wait with my Social Media Challenge post for this week, and I'm only making 3 or 4 posts weekly so I think it's fine. 🙂

This weeks Social Media Challenge is the same as last weeks, and while the exciting times for Splinterlands and all of Praetoria are pretty obvious with the launch of the pre-sale for the newest core set called Conclave Arcana only two days ago, my biggest excitement this weeks came from an unexpected side of Splinterlands and I love it!

How this all started...

So, in normal months I put a set amount of personal fun money in to my account around every pay day, and because all excitement in my favorite game I decided to upgrade my fun money a bit but this month I had some extra funds to spend - €130 extra on top of my fun money, so after thinking about how to best spend this, I decided I want more land plots!

I already own 8 plots on this account, but since I'm playing with TWO accounts and the 5% reward boost for land owners is pretty damn nice long term, let's give my other account some plots as well!

Without grain you can't do anything so the choices were limited, I wanted to get multiple plots for my funds so it would be commons and maybe one rare plot of land, depending on its price.

Since I wanted to buy Splinterlands assets with these funds, the easiest thing for me is use the buy credits option, handled by paypal, and without getting political here.. thanks to what is happening in the U.S the Euro vs. the Dollar exchange rate is pretty good for me, I received $145 in credits for just over €130

BUT DAMN, prices increased quite a lot in the last weeks so after searching for my best option - with a new account it's easier because I can just pick a region I decided I would settle in region 81 with my second account, @clayboyn and @captaindingus were among the sellers, some pretty well known names in the community, thanks for selling!

So, for just under $113 I was the proud owner of four new plots of land in the same region, too bad there weren't more plots for sale at a good price, and because I wanted to have that 5% bonus, I ended up buying a random common plot in another region at floor price, for now just to get to the five plots, and eventually selling it for a little profit.

This looks damn nice, doesn't it? 😍

The Splinterlands community on X

So, nothing special until now, although I was pretty excited to now at least own the lands for my second account as well, it will still take a couple of months at least to get them online and fully productive.

So, I made a post on X about my newest land plots, when @devonhdd reached out in my post.

So, my first reaction in my mind was.. I can't afford that at this point...
but after going back and fort with messages it turns out he wasn't using them and wanted to sell at floor price!

So that's an offer I couldn't refuse! Give me a couple of days to get the funds I told him, and just this morning we made the trade, shout out to Devon for this chance and also a thank you for the trust for just sending the plots to me peer 2 peer!

It's not the best timing, with DEC just back to it's peg value, it's going to be even more expensive, buying the power cores and staking enough dec to land, and it will take me probably until Christmas this year to get everything up and running, but Rome wasn't build in a day either!

Making calculations

So, it's been a while since I put workers on the lands of my other account, and prizes has changed so I needed to do everything all over again, calculating what cards I could best buy to put on my land without spending hundreds of dollars because I simply don't have them - maybe I can upgrade my work force at some point in the future.

I'm no land expert at all, I spend most of my Splinterlands time with battles, and making posts but I figured the Chaos Legion reward cards are the best buy - Chaos Legion being the 'Land Set' but now probably also the 'Survival Set'.

Looking at the Legendary reward cards, giving 136 PP per CC (Production Points per Card Copy) at an average selling price around 56 cents, it would cost over $4 to get to a 1000 PP.
Common reward cards are next... that's easy since a max copy of 400 CC gives 1000 PP, so that's a lot better.

I think I need to stake more DEC to land when I use lower rarity cards, but I'm okay with that since it's staked and not lost money.

Let's take a look at the rare cards, they give 1100 PP for a max copy, worth $2.73 at the market place.

Now only epics are left, but there are only 1 CC copies for sale and they're too expensive so rare's it is!

So, if any of you land veterans are reading this, let me know if there are better options for a little Praetorian peasant 😁

Of course I couldn't ignore the pre-sale launch of Conclave Arcana but good thing I saved for that with my blogging earnings, so the funds were already waiting for the sale to go live, I plan on being a Silver level player after the rotation, and because I have a close to full Rebellion set, with only some of the legendary summoners and cards missing, I'm going easy on the new set but yet I wanted to support the team, so I went for the minimum amount to get the rare promo card and put my name in the hat for the raffle, I have seen some of the card reveals and I will definitely will be buying some of them from the secondary marketplace!
