Hello everyone and welcome back to my Splinterlands blog, I actually forgot this weeks post until I saw other people posting about the maneuvers ruleset 😏 so here we go before it's too late to get upvotes!
I was doing ranked battles on my main account and I was doing pretty good actually and I hate to stop in a streak but we have to make priorities! 😉

At the end of the season the rewards are pretty nice, I'm earning around 3 SPS and 200 glint per win, let's see if I can push for Gold 2 before the end of the season, it seems Modern is getting better playable for not max decks every season now - better... not perfect yet.

This weeks Battle Mage Secrets Challenge is about the Maneuvers ruleset, in which all monsters get the reach ability, making them able to strike from the second position.

Units with melee attacks gain Reach.
Armored Strike is a melee attack.
Sneak and opportunity override reach.

I never really thought about using the Armored Strike ability like that, it's pretty nice actually, I'm going to try that some time although I don't have that many monsters with the Armored Strike ability yet.

The battle I want to share for this post is a 24 mana Wild League, Stampede / Maneuvers / What doesn't kills you battle with the Death and Dragon splinters locked out. In this case the enrage ruleset is more important in most situations, but because it's fairly low mana I used a different strategy as I normally would (make Oshannus so fast it's almost impossible to kill) but this time, I focused on the maneuvers ruleset, but then realized I wanted Trample on my Coastal Sentry, so I went with Possibilus and he gives reach too, a little bit overdone but if it fits in your strategy it's fine, sometimes it's even better to make a plan and not even use all the available mana!

First look at the battlefield:

O well my opponent used the strategy I use most of the times myself 😁 hmmm... I hope my team is fast enough to hit Oshannus anyway! A little luck is needed!

My Line-Up:

• Summoner: Possibilus the Wise - reason: I wanted the Trample ability on my off tank.
• First position: Diemon Shark - reason: Good damage, fast.
• Second position: Coastal Sentry - reason: High damage, double strike, piercing.
• Third position: Torrent Fiend - reason: 0 mana backline protection.
• Fourth position: Furious Chicken - reason: 0 mana backline protection.

The Battle:

Round 1: Well we both protected our backline for nothing lol! 5 speed difference, I really hope I'll be able to land enough hits to compensate for the healing!

Round 2: O damn, 2 misses! this doesn't look promising!😟

Round 3: WHOA!!! WTF just happened!? 🤣 Well this was exactly my strategy but this worked way better than I planned and awesome to watch!! Once Oshannus was killed the rest of the team just got trampled over because of the Piercing ability. 😁

I'm done with posting for this weeks, real life commitments calls again, I still need to drain some energy so it doesn't get to 50 before tomorrow morning, it's almost a job, being a Splinterlands player. 🤣
