Hey everyone, and welcome back to my weekly Splinterlands blog, it's an exciting time for sure to be a Splinterlands player with all the recent and upcoming changes and improvements to the game, it hasn't been easy for the players that stood their ground in the dark times but I'm proud to be a part of them who did.

If you're a Splinterlands player yourself, you can't get around the fact a new set is close to launching, but if you're someone who isn't a player just yet, or maybe someone who once were a player - good times are coming so it might be wise to start paying some attention to this game again, interested? Read on...

I'm making this post to participate in this weeks Community Engagement Challenge, but I was already planning to make my post about this monumental change that's about to unfold, so let's take some time to talk about that!

So, this weeks challenge is about making a post about the arrival of the new set with some topics to mention...

And I really recommend doing so I you have some spare time, as a normal player it's a great way to earn some additional funds for the game because it's great fun but it's far from cheap!

You can also learn some things from making posts, like photo editing and as a non native English speaker, it's good for my English as well.

So, first here is some basic info about the new set.

The arrival of a new core set: Conclave Arcana

🗓️ Key Dates
Presale: April 22, 2025​.

General Release: May 13, 2025.

📦 Booster Pack Options
During the presale, players can choose from three types of booster packs:​

• Standard Packs: 500,000 available at 4,000 DEC or Credits each.​
• Alchemist Packs: 100,000 available at 12,000 DEC or Credits each, each containing at least one guaranteed Gold Foil card.​
• Legendary Packs: 50,000 available at 24,000 DEC or Credits each, each containing at least one guaranteed Legendary card.​

Note: Conclave Starter Packs will be available after the general release.​

🃏 Card Set Composition
The Conclave Arcana set includes 82 new cards:​

24 Common​
29 Rare​
14 Epic​
15 Legendary​

Additionally, nine special airdrop cards will be released during future in-game Conflicts:​

🧬 New Mechanics: Archons & Bloodlines
Conclave Arcana introduces Archons, replacing traditional summoners. Each Archon possesses a unique Bloodline, a new mechanic that allows for cross-element team compositions based on shared lineage. This adds a strategic layer to deck-building, enabling more diverse and synergistic team setups.​

🆕 New Abilities
Nine new abilities debut in this set, enhancing gameplay complexity:​ I don't want to copy the whole splinterlands announcement post so for details you can read the official announcement here.

🧭 Format Rotation: Modern vs. Wild
With Conclave Arcana's release, the Modern Format will include only cards from the Rebellion and Conclave Arcana sets. All Chaos Legion cards, including core, Riftwatchers, Promos, and Rewards, will transition to the Wild Format. These cards will remain valuable for brawls, land gameplay, and tournaments.

What are you most excited about with the release of Conclave Arcana?

Wow.. where to start! It's amazing because this is the start of a new era, with not only the new set launching but also the kick-off of the marketing campaign and hopefully by then the mobile app will also be ready, opening the availability for the game to more people.
At this point you can already play the game via the in app browser in the Hive Keychain app but it's another hurdle people have to get trough, having the app in the app stores will also bring more visibility to the game.

For me, like many players with me, a lot will change with the modern rotation, returning to Silver League again from Diamond League. It's where I have been most of my Splinterlands career anyway and I don't mind playing in lower leagues again, it's how the game was designed in the first place.
Because of the high cost of a max set, the lower leagues will be a lot more played in by people so I'm actually excited for this, less complicated and maybe more technical.

I have a max Silver Rebellion set with some of the legendary summoners, o wait - ARCHONS, with a close to max reward set, I'm only working on the legendary reward cards now. With Rebellion being a small set, I hope I will have an advantage to players who primarily will have a Conclave Arcana deck.

Any card art, lore teasers, or abilities you're hoping to see?

Well, to be honest I am more the enjoying kind of customer I think, so I'm just waiting for all the amazing things to be released, listen to the townhalls and podcasts from the community and see what is being released next, and it's awesome - the teams keeps coming up with crazy new things, I'm very excited to be a part of this amazing new time.

How do you think this set will impact your personal strategy?

Well, this couldn't be greater, everything is about to change, and when you're only playing ONE account, well.. it's not as complex maybe but because I am managing two guilds I am running alt accounts to help support both guilds in brawls due do the lack of enough active players - something that will hopefully change at some point.

So, at the moment I'm playing this account @nozem01 with a Gold level modern deck, primarily Chaos Legion in Modern League manually and @nozem with a Diamond level deck, also primarily Chaos Legion and also manually in Modern League.
On top of that I'm running my two alt accounts @stella16 in our guild Legion I with a Novice level Rebellion deck and @mightyluna with a Bronze level Wild Gold Foil deck (mostly Chaos Legion and Untamed) AND I run the account paid by the founders of the guild, Non Fungible Gaming - @lord-ace with a Bronze level Chaos Legion deck.

So yeah, a lot will change, because of the much higher modern costs, I will only play @nozem manually after the rotation with my Silver level Modern deck, @nozem01 will get the Diamond deck and will be played by Archmage in Wild League.

Brawl Frays will also change so we will cross that bridge when we get to it but I will have a spare Diamond Chaos Legion deck I can do two things with, or bring in another alt account and cover the Silver Wild fray for my second guild or sell it and buy Land with it, choices choices...

Excitement is starting

The community is already humming with excitement, and the price of SPS - the native Splinterlands token is already pumping in anticipation.

In the last 4 days, the price has pumped 84% and is still going strong and DEC is also starting to get closer to it's peg value at 1000 DEC - $1 when it's getting interesting to burn SPS for DEC, activating the flywheel, pushing price higher.

The Flywheel Effect

This cyclical process where SPS is burned to create DEC, leading to increased SPS scarcity and value, which in turn drives more DEC demand constitutes the "flywheel" effect. It's designed to create a sustainable and self-reinforcing economic model within Splinterlands.

So, I know I've been working my ass off the last 6 months to prepare for all of this, grinding my two account manually to earn as much glint and SPS to prepare for the new era, I'm so excited for this new era in my favorite game that will change everything and hopefully bring attention to this amazing game to a lot more people all over the world.
