Clearing my Prospectors Land Plot - Finally!

What Should I Build?

This Land Is My Land!

As some of you may know, I am into blockchain gaming, especially when you can own "land" within the game. One of the games where I do own a plot of land is Prospectors on the #WAX blockchain. I like the game for the cheesy reason that I was born at the wrong time. The idea of "trailblazing" raw wilderness and creating a place to live is very appealing to me. Since that is harder and harder to do in the modern world, I can at least live out my fantasy in the Prospectors game.

Prospectin'!

I bought the pack that contained my land during the presale, and I think I paid $250 USD for the pack. It was a long time ago, and honestly, I forget. Now, you can buy packs -HERE- for roughly $500 USD at the time of this writing. When I opened my pack, there was no map to check anything, but I did get five cups of coffee for free as a bonus! If you were to buy land, you could at least check the place out right after you opened it!

My Lil' Spot

As you can see, my land has 77k worth of coal on it. You can see that in the very middle at the top. But when I first was able to check out my land, it looked like this...

Bare Land...

But What Is There?

As you can see from this plot that is still owned by the game, and therefore able to be drawn in a pack, the only thing you know for sure right after opening is how much wood is there. But wait! It says there is gold! And clay, and stone, and coal! Yeah, that is what I thought too, but as soon as you "prospect" the lodes, you quickly discover that your land will not likely have more than two resources or three tops. My land said there "could" be all of that as well, but after attempting to mine them the first time, all of them disappeared like my dreams of striking it rich quickly. Except for the coal. I did get a fairly large coal deposit on my land, and that is too shabby!

What to Build?

Get Er' Done!

As you can see in the first screenshot, there are no more trees on my land. It has taken me a couple of months, but I was finally able to get it clear. I still have all the wood for use stored, and of course, I have done other things within the game other than that. I have gotten my workers a few degrees and built some tools and other things. This is not a basic tutorial on the game, however, as much as it is a what can also be done with the land and how after a person gets their land clear. Be aware also, not all land has trees to clear, some of them have stone instead, and some have nothing at all! Again, the luck of the pack opening! In the above photo, you can see the various buildings that can be built AFTER you have cleared your land.

More Stuff to Build!

Decisions, Decisions...

As you can see from the last two photos, there is a multitude of buildings you can build on your plot after it is cleared. Everything from a coal mine, to a bank! The materials to build them are somewhat costly, but I could always sell some of the wood or coal I have stored to buy them. I think I am going to keep those supplies, and buy the others over time, then use the wood and coal later. If you had stone on your land, to begin with, it would take longer to clear, but the building later would be cheaper. The game economics here is amazing, honestly. Really the entire point of the game is to set up a business, and then over time, get passive income.

Passive Income

Passive income can be earned in several ways, helping to build the railway station, and earning "Prospectors State Shares," or depositing PGL after exchanging gold you earn for it into the Central Bank, which again, pays out interest. You can even earn gold by working for others, even if you do not own land! If you are not familiar with the game of Prospectors, it is something I highly recommend you check out. When you play for the first time, the game will walk you through a tutorial for all of the basics, and that is why I did not cover them here.

As Always, Thank You For Reading!

I can totally relate to that :-). Seems to be an interesting game. Thanks for letting us look into it. I believe it's always great to have your own plot of land in a game.
