Splinterlands EOS excitement.

Another season over and surely time is running out for the current batch of reward cards. I can't remember when they started but it feels like we've been collecting them for a long time by now. Unfortunately I still have a way to go before I complete the set and time is running out fast.

While I've managed to max out all of the common and rare cards there is still a way to go with the legendary and epic versions.

I have some spares but is it just me or has the burn value dropped massively since the last set??? A legendary burn gets you 2500 glint but a new draw is 35000 glint? I can't remember the exact numbers but i feel like the old burn value was more like 13500 or at least a lot higher. Now you would need to burn 14 legendary cards just to get one more. That's a poor proposition. I'm holding onto my singles to unbind at the end of the set now to hopefully sell and just buy the exact copies that I need for roughly the same price.

Either way I have a long way to go before maxing out the set so hopefully there are a few more seasons before the run has ended. I normally focus on chests at the every end of season since it gets me better results overall but with the urgent need for legendary cards I'll have to focus a bit more on the cards themselves.

I still went for the full 30 ultimate chests followed by 3 legendary cards and 3 epic cards.

No legendary cards in the first set of chests which is disappointing but there was a riftwatchers gem which slightly makes up for it.

This is going to be a race to the finish for completing the collection. And for me it's important to fill out these collections. So much of the game now needs an expanded deck to compete att he highest level.

To try and buy up the old collection would cost a fortune so these free cards are a vital part of staying in the upper ranks of splinterlands.

I'm a huge fan of survival mode and can't wait for it to come back hopefully this or net season. It just adds a layer of strategy to managing your deck and earning rewards that isn't there in a straight league based game.

After letting my account stagnate for the past couple of years on auto mode I found myself logging in every day again and playing games manually. Splinterlands had become fun again and that's the way that it should be for every player.

It's interesting to see on twitter at the moment just how many web3 games are closing their doors after an extended bear market and a lack of hype and investment in the sector. Splinterlands is one of the longest running games in the whole world which is a testament to the team running the game and to the community that has stood behind it in tough times.

Money is key to this whole scenario and a lot of these games might have great devs but how many of them can run a multi million dollar business over an extended period of time. So many users rush to the newest shiny object in crypto but we have seen time and time again how foolish this is. Sure a few early users might make some money but everybody else is left holding the bag as the founders make out once again with the majority of the funds.

Tried and tested over a long length of time we know that whatever happens it won't be from lack of effort or people out to make a quick buck at our expense.
