# Forceful Testing of the Waters in Modern - Splinter Stats Ranked Rewards Season 80 Report Card

It was an interesting Season as my account had suffered from the downtime of the Xbot a couple of days which found myself forcefully trying to play Modern myself. I have to admit that I was lost in battles despite finally having a full set of maxed Conclave Arcana cards. In the past, having a full maxed set was enough to get by for some wins in ranked play but that is clearly no longer the case. I played enough so that my energy would not go to waste while the bot got back online which was luckily not more than a full day.

The downtime meant some inefficiencies for Glint production which I am focused on maintaining given the likelihood of new things coming to the Glint shop. Overall, the performance was ok although modern is clearly not where I belong. However, I may start playing more in Modern once I get to completing my Frontier set which will likely be in a couple of more Seasons.

I continue to get a constant flow of Glint from the bot which is good as I am on the lookout for more details on how the next set of reward cards will work from an economic perspective. Lots to think about in the ecosystem with asset allocation becoming a more important part of the strategy of our collections.

SPS continues to pour in and I am holding more and more liquid given the upcoming mini set sale which will be interesting to see how the demand and supply works. I am concerned of the timing for me as I may not be ready to participate for the presale but will likely be driven to adjust to not miss the potential Promo cards to be offered.

Seems like we have come into a pause at the moment which is impacting the economy of the ecosystem. However, things are so interrelated that I am sure we will see some direction soon. Unfortunately, I am not sure which direction that will be as it has the potential of going both ways. I also wonder if the general Crypto bull run has also come to a pause or has become very focused on a sub segment of the market which is seemingly avoiding Web3 and gaming.
