Preparing for Conclave Arcana Conflicts: Why I Doubled Down on My Collection

Decisions for Conflicts.jpeg

With the upcoming Conflicts for Conclave Arcana fast approaching, I’ve been reflecting on my approach to maximize participation—and potential rewards—from the event. Having gone through the Rebellion Conflicts earlier this year, I came away with one key lesson: having a fully maxed set ahead of time gave me a clear advantage when it came to securing the highest possible amount of airdrops.

This time around, though, the math is different—and it’s forced me to make some nuanced decisions about how to complete the missing pieces in my collection.

A Different Kind of Conflict

Unlike the previous event, Rebellion cards will still play a role in the Conclave Arcana Conflicts, but they’ll only contribute 50% of their normal Collection Power value. That’s a major shift. On the one hand, I’m fortunate to already own a full Rebellion set, so I’ll benefit from that added base of Collection Points. On the other hand, it also means I’ll need more Wagon Kits to support the same volume of activity if I want to reach my targets—which increases the demand on Land resources.

The Foil Factor: Blessing and Curse

The addition of new foil variants in Conclave Arcana also changes the playing field. These variants inflate the pool of Collection Points, which increases competition for airdrops. But they also provide extra power if you manage to hold them.

Fortunately, I already own a Legendary and an Epic Black Foil—two powerful assets that should significantly boost my odds in the drop mechanics. Still, I knew that relying on those alone wouldn’t be enough.

To truly optimize, I decided to fill out more of my Common and Rare cards, making sure my set was as close to maxed as possible.

Funding the Strategy: New Fiat, Not Old Bags

This wasn’t just a reshuffle of existing crypto resources. I made the choice to bring in fresh fiat capital to complete my purchases. It wasn’t an easy call, but it felt like the right one.

Why? Mainly because I didn’t want to deal with the overhead of crypto bridges and wallet juggling at this time. Plus, I believe bringing new money into the ecosystem (rather than reallocating from within) helps support the project in a way that aligns with my long-term confidence in Splinterlands.

Every airdrop window is a strategic opportunity, and this one feels especially layered. Between the interaction of older sets, new resource demands, foils, and crafting mechanics like Wagon Kits, there’s a lot to consider. But ultimately, I feel good about my decision.

I’ve positioned my collection to be both competitive and future-proof, and I’m hoping the fresh capital injection will yield returns not just in drops, but in the continued momentum of a game I believe in.

Here’s to the Conflicts ahead—and the cards they’ll bring.
