A Golden Surprise: My First Arcane Card Pull from Conclave Arcana

Opening packs in Splinterlands has always been one of the most thrilling parts of the game for me, but the recent Conclave Arcana edition has added an entirely new layer of excitement to the experience. While past editions kept things relatively straightforward with Regular Foils and Gold Foils, this time around, the team has introduced a new level of chase: Black Foils and the ultra-limited Arcane variants.

These Arcane cards—available in both Gold and Black Foil—are more than just visually stunning. They’re limited in mints, carry bragging rights, and have already been positioned as trophy-tier pulls within the community. Whether you're chasing for status, collection goals, or sheer thrill, they’ve already started shifting how people approach their pack strategy. And I can definitely say—it’s working on me.

I’ve always seen myself as someone who balances between opening packs and buying cards off the market. But now? I find myself leaning much more toward cracking packs, lured by the hope of uncovering one of these ultra-rare Arcane cards. It's that rush, that what-if moment with every pack, that keeps drawing me back in.

So imagine my surprise when, during my standard pack opening session—yes, standard packs, not even the higher-tier Alchemy or Eternity ones—I saw something I wasn’t expecting:

A Gold Foil Arcane Common!

At first, I did a double-take. I almost overlooked it completely because the card wasn’t flashy in rarity—it was a Common. But then I noticed the Arcane tag. That shimmer. That symbol. That rare glint that you just don’t see often. And just like that, the FOMO was real.

It was the best kind of surprise: unexpected, exciting, and validating. It reinforced that luck plays a part in this game and that even standard packs can deliver top-tier moments. It also proved what so many others in the community are feeling—that these new chase cards really do bring something special to the experience.

Sure, it wasn’t a Legendary or even an Epic, but the thrill of pulling an Arcane card—and from a standard pack, no less—was a huge win in my book. It gave me that dopamine boost we all chase when opening packs, and it honestly left me wanting more.

So yes, I’ll probably be diving back into more Conclave Arcana packs. Not because I need more cards (although I do), but because I now know what it feels like to hit one of those rare pulls—and that feeling is something worth chasing again.

Congrats! I was looking for the mint number since it's an arcane... I finally found it in the bottom-left corner.
