@maccazftw and @new.aaron no Tofu left in the super market! time to pull up stumps and head to the bush? !LOL
@crackyup how's the weather way up north?
@jessgwnne how's your new place?
@vidus4evz have you finished painting?
@lukeeeyy tells about TThugs.
@mateyevans what are u up to this weekend, got any new crypto, there seems to be some bargains around?

Thanks to forykw and the pub for the DLUX rewards. I am happy for u to hang on to them until the end of the experiment if its easier. A one week return payback is fantastic but I thinking your investment not including your time should have been 95% to the pub and about 5% for my 153DLUX

So do you need to set up a node to be a witness and mine Hive by verifying transitions? and
do you need more than a $1000 laptop and a hand full of hive power to make it worth while?

As long as the bottleshop has something funky and refreshing like these badboys I found last weekend, I won't run for the hills just yet !LOLZ

On more of a crypto related note, I see that the Aussie Open has been doing some pretty interesting things.

Through Decentraland, they've created a metaverse you can join. Pretty much a virtual reality where you can roam around the stadiums, interact with other fans, players, and what not. Personally I'm more into reality, but hey I reckon that's pretty bloody epic, especially in a covid stricken world.

Also they were selling unique NFTs linked to a small 19cm x 19cm plot on the court. If winners are hit on that spot I believe NFT metadata will be updated in real time to reflect the current match situation. Also if a championship point happens to land on your spot, you can claim a championship point tennis ball NFT. Bit of a lottery, but pretty interesting nonetheless.

Believe its the first major sport event to adopt NFTs and create a Metaverse.

Interesting times indeed, Decentral coin might be worth looking at with todays price drops as well as some more hive too. Just cracked back under 23 mins at parkrun, with a 22:54. !LOL !hivebits

Hivebits blends Hive and Bitcoin. Mine HBIT simply with: !hivebits

@new.things(2/1) You mined .9 HBIT and the user you replied to received .1 HBIT on your behalf. You can receive 100% of the HBIT by replying to one of your own posts or comments. Or, support Hivebits by using the official HBIT mine | my wallet | market | tools | connect | <><

Another one for me to look at.

It's pretty easy...just reply using ! hivebits (no space) and you'll earn HBIT. :)

I had a read now... but to be honest I don't see any long-term difference from the love shares initiative.

You might not be telling all the story but I would have thought that if just for the experiment, then you could have incentivized the use of Love Shares. My opinion ok?

Another thing I would like to ask the reason is, why rewarding who makes the comment more? Is the intention to do a distribution? If so, you can do that via contract on Hive-Engine already... https://tribaldex.com/distribution (costs 100 BEE).

Don't interpret this as a negative critic =) it's my view. Would expect people to do the same about me.

Cheers with a !BEER

Hi @forykw, I love that you're questioning things...no offense here. :) I must say, I don't entirely understand what you're writing, but I'll try to respond as best I can.

You suggest at a difference or non-difference with LUV. Here's the difference as succinctly as I can put it:

LUV is about giving or sharing love with others...giving away as an undeserved gift.

HBIT is about mining for yourself...your effort, your HBIT.

As to why reward the commenter more...the purpose of HBIT is to reward one's effort. Initially, calling the !hivebits command gave 100% to the commenter. A Hive user noted that this might be viewed as spam by the person being commented to since they were uninvolved bystanders who only received a notification of someone else's rewards. So, I split the HBIT reward 90/10. That way the person being replied to does indeed now receive something...I called it a "royalty" for their initial post. Still, as intended, mining HBIT mostly rewards the "miner", that is, the person actually putting in the effort to call the HBIT command.

My recommendation for anyone mining HBIT regularly is to make your own "My HBIT mine" post and mine there, or to use the official HBIT mine @hivebits.mine

Regarding the tribaldex distribution contract, I don't THINK that's what I'm after. As I understand, and I could be wrong, but I see that as essentially a token airdrop mechanism. If so, that's not the goal of HBIT. The goal of HBIT is to reward Hive users for their purposeful, conscious effort. Unlike a stake-and-wait system, the idea here emphasizes daily-or-regular-effort. The HBIT effort is very small, but that's kind of the point...small, consistent, persistent actions to yield results.

Honestly, I appreciate your feedback...that's how we get better. :)

Hmmm I see... now I got it.

Either way, I don't think spreading 10/90 will solve a situation, the only way in my view will be for the commenter to be aware where it should or not invoke the command in order to not spam (or even worse, cause/influence others to do the same on the "no so wished" place).

Have you thought about how to deal with many accounts being created to mine 1 token each too?

And one last question... how is the token going to have value? Who will buy it and for what reason?

Awesome man, I've always been into throwing some weight around.. or trying to anyway !LOL

Triathlon would be an awesome challenge to tick off. I ran a half marathon about 4 years ago, but haven't run since then. Been running the last 2 months, mixing it in with the weight training 👍

That's the way haha can't go wrong with at least trying, much more than most do. I believe every one should lift some form of weights, builds a great strong frame, stay fit, strengthen immune system etc, so many benefits.
Oh great stuff, half marathon is very decent, I've done 2 tough muddas before and by 10km had calf cramps was very uncomfortable ha.
2 months is awesome, well done. I really need to drink less beers and get stuck back into fitness stuff. Really hard with all this stuff going on in the world.

Decentraland, interesting... I think I have stumbled on it in the past but didn't appeal much. Looks much alike what DLUX is trying to do but on HIVE.

When VR dives heavily into the blockchain world its going to be pretty epic too. That is one of the reasons I am looking closely at DLUX.

Here is a sneak peak of the NFT collection for Trillionaire thugs (TThugs), hopefully I get a chance to buy one on release. Love to see these street NFTs going around, it’s obtained a huge following over the month.

How do you guys feel about fees when using these? Do you find side-chains where you can handle much lower fees? Just curious because usually its ridiculous.

Thanks to forykw and the pub for the DLUX rewards. I am happy for u to hang on to them until the end of the experiment if its easier. A one week return payback is fantastic but I thinking your investment not including your time should have been 95% to the pub and about 5% for my 153DLUX

The experiment was to sort of captivate others... failed completely! 🤣 I didn't call for rewards for that reason. Either way, I wanna be fair with the Pub, so what I might end up doing if no one goes with it, is to put some DLUX of mine... The node seems pretty stable on Heroku, so I am definitely going to invest in it if no one wants to grab that.

So do you need to set up a node to be a witness and mine Hive by verifying transitions? and
do you need more than a $1000 laptop and a hand full of hive power to make it worth while?

The DLUX node is very cheap on resources... could even run on the phone if you knew how to command line the thing.

The HIVE node is more beefy... needs just for witnesses (there are many functions for HIVE nodes), aside from others things that witnesses sometimes provide, around 400GB of disk space just for the blockchain and either a NVMe disk at least. So we are talking about $2k NZD minimum... if running things on a proper node then it will go higher, like $5k. And it needs to be full time connected to the internet.

Maybe it could be done with a $1k laptop, but some hacking (like replacing the disk for a NVMe if it does not have one) would be needed. If running stuff from the NVMe it does not need much memory. Otherwise the minimum is around 20GB just to run the thing.

Huge shout out... thanks for that mate.

Hello @new.things yeah now that's scary, no big roll, no meat and now no tofu! That's some scary stuff going on, and yes I'm still considering selling up and buying a decent block in the middle of no where and live off the lands with no one around.
It would have to be near the sea though, I can't live away from it 😊
