My secret plan in investing in Splinterlands

After doing some researching and calculation, I have a plan of investing in Splinterlands.

Before that, let us have a look at Splinterland goverence token: SPS.

According to DappRadar, Splinterlands continues to be the number 1 gaming crypto games with the highest daily active users.

With 4 times as many users as Axie Infinity.

Since Axie Infinity is one of the most hype crypto play2earn game, let use it for comparsion. The goverence token for Axie Infinity is AXS. Currently, it is valued at $140 with a marketcap of $10 billion.

Where as SPS is currently value at $0.56 with a marketcap of $100mil. Personally, I predict that SPS can hit $1billion marketcap eventually. With some dilution along the way as more SPS unlocked, lets overly assume that the circulating SPS will be double in a year time, hitting a $1billion marketcap means that SPS would be worth $2.80 each. Having said that, that means SPS still can x5 from the current price.

That is why for these few days, I have been researching and finding out ways on how to effectively increase my collection airdrop points so I can get more daily SPS airdrop.

Currently, the most effective and popular way is to use $$ to buy DEC. With $500, you can get like 50k DEC which is worth like 5 SPS airdrop per day. On the other side, I have a friend who spent like $550 on good cards but the collection airdrop points only contribute to 0.5 SPS airdrop per day. That is like a x10 difference for the same amount of $$. Of course, my friend can rent out these cards to get passive DEC along the way to continue to increase the SPS, but so can the earlier to stake SPS to get more SPS too.

Given that DEC is one of the more effective ways of getting airdrop points, I am still not very comfortable with it, cause DEC has a soft peg of 1k DEC per dollar. One will never know when the price of DEC will drop from $10/1k-DEC to half, overall DEC did fall from $15 to $10 per 1k DEC. This is the risk that i want to reduce.

Liqudity pool is actually quite a good way to accumulate airdrop points too. However, that also means that you are at the mercy of the price of DEC and one other tokens(depend on which pair you are providing for). In addition, the impairment losses can be very huge if the pair ratio gone way off.

Land is giving the most number of points but given that one land is already worth $700+++, it was no longer that effective in giving airdrop points as compare to when I bought it in sub $100.

To be honest, I would like to also highlight that I have yet to try out Splintertalk tokens and buying skin/title etc so my analysis is still not complete.

Currently, buying $10 worth of DEC can get you 1k collection airdrop points. So this is my target to see if I can find a way to get as close to getting 100 airdrop with a dollar spent. And I manage to find a satisfying solution.

The trick that I have is getting chao legion pack. Currently, one unopen chao legion pack cost like $4 + a voucher and it gives 300 airdrop points. Imagine, if you can purcahse the pack without the need of the voucher, that means you can get 300 airdrop points with $4. That is actually quite a good rates.

And the good new is that during the recently AMA, the developers have said that after the pre-sale, only the next 2 million packs will need vouchers. After the 3 million packs sold(presale and public sale), the remaining 12 million packs no longer need vouchers!!!

In addition to that, you can

1. sell the unopen packs after the whole sps airdrop to recover your cost. So far, based on historial data, unopen packs can increase in price once that edition is sold out. So that means you not just able to get free daily SPS airdrop, you can get even price appreciation. Double the profit.
2. open the packs to get cards to improve your ranking. By then, ranked matches may give you DEC and SPS. The developer even say that there can be seperated ECR for seperate rank matches. The chao legion cards will give you a huge edge in at least one of the rank matches.
3. buying the packs from the shop can entitle to airdrop cards for each million sold. So if you buy once the voucher is no longer needed, each pack entitle you to 12 airdrop chances.
4. buying bulk purchases give you additional packs. If you buy 2000 packs, you dont just have 600k airdrop points, you actually get additional 400 packs. That means you are getting 720k airdrop points instead, an additional of 120k airdrop points.

However, i would also like to highlight a few concerns.
We would not know how is the voucher airdrop rate after pre-sale. You need to wait for the next 2 million packs to be sold and that would depend on the voucher airdrop rate. If it going to take a long time to drop that 2million vouchers, that means the remaining runaway of the sps airdrop is going to be liimted.
Also, do take note that there is possibility that the bear crypto market may happen. If so the price of SPS may drop to a point that it is more worthwhile to just buy SPS directly.
