Hello Gods Unchained Fans,

This week I have been grinding with my Anubian deck still and with the upgrade of Neferu and some more card draw, it has been having some interesting results.

However, when the algo kicks in like on Monday, I had a 7 game losing streak which was quite painful to go through. Since then though, things have improved and a more balanced win ratio has kicked in.

One weakness in my deck has been trying to overcome decks playing hidden characters. I need to add something to overcome this weakness but did not figure it out yet what I could put in.

In the meantime, I have been considering, what I could add to my deck to give it a further boost. My thoughts are going back to the original genesis cards and the Pyramid Warden could be a viable option.

Although he is quite pricey to buy, therefore I thought I could look at the rental service Lootrush and maybe rent him and see if he has an impact first.

To rent him I need to first increase my credit limit on the site as it is currently just $10. To increase my limit I could use the LootRush wallet or deposit some assets.

The strong health and frontline of the Pyramid Warden could be very handy to bolster my deck and he is my top consideration right now apart from some hidden debuff.

With 6 health score and front line, he can act as a good blocker for some of those very aggro war decks and if played later on, could also get some nice buffs too.

After a very strong deck win rate, it has fallen down now to 41% which is pretty low but shows how tough things have gotten in Auric Gold and my huge losing run on Monday.

Today's Battle - Time For Pyramids?

In this week's battle I get a decent pull and can clean up Anubian style. But is it time for pyramids?

1 Mana

I start with Burrowing Scab to force card draw. My opponent brings out some standard front line.

2 Mana

I play Necromancer and Priestess to inflict damage when I sacrifice the Burrowing Scab. My opponent plays a relic.

3 Mana

I play Semet to buff my board, but probably I should have played the relic removal first. I sacrice Semet to force more card draw. My opponent takes out Necromancer and is down to 15 health already.

4 Mana

I play relic removal and blitz his frontline away. My opponent's health is down to 10, I'm feeling pretty confident right now. My opponent plays Grand Hall and takes out my Priestess.

5 Mana

I thought I could clear the board, but only scratch Grand Hall. My opponent plays more frontline between me and his War God and adds shield. How will I respond?

5.5 Mana

I play some board removal and both frontlines with their buffed shields are removed. My opponent responds with more protected frontline.

6 Mana

I respond with a Priestess and sacrifice my other Anubians to deal 2 extra damage each to my opponent. The frontline is removed and I bring 3 Anubians back from the dead. 2 Priestesses... this should get interesting (I hope). My opponent plays the Sole Survivor and board clears.. oh man!

I clear the frontline and throw some Anubians down. 4 health to go.. my opponent board clears, but I take 1 more health ... down to 3..

7 Mana

I take another health point and throw down what I can... 2 to go.. I have had so many matches go down to 1 mana on my opponent and they bounce back somehow. My opponent plays some strong frontline, he has control of the board.

7.5 Mana

It's all over, with just 2 health and lots of ways to take it, my opponent doesn't stand a chance.

Summary

The Anubian deck is working well with a good draw, but it feels sometimes against a very aggro war deck, that it cannot keep up the pace. It also has a weakness against hidden focused decks that I need to overcome.

My idea is first to add some pyramid frontline and look for a hidden debuff. Is there a way to make this deck more aggro?!

I have had a few nailbiters where I have gotten them down to just 1 mana and they managed to pull back from there.

My weekend ranking went ok, but I couldn't pull anything out of the bag to get me that 1 extra win for the MJ Rare pack. 8 from 18 is lower than where I want to be, but the competition right now is brutal in ranked play.

Since my last update, I have now reached level 229(+4) and have92(+5) shadow cards and 450(-9) meteorite cards. My collection value has decreased and is worth 3466 (3562) GODS tokens and value in fiat of $586 ($600).
