Manhunter (1986)

Hey Yo, it's in the bag homies.

"He's got somebody in the house with him Jack"

Yo I highly reccomend that you watch the full movie instead of getting the drive thru version from clips. Watch it and come back. For real you pleb.

Still here or have come back? Okay here we go:

A lot of you causal cats may not know of the joy that is Manhunter (1986) That's ok, the less of you freaks that know about it the better. If its one thing we don't need it's more pretentious plebs acting all smug just cause they've seen the original Hannibal Lector movie.

Ah fuck too late smh:

Seriously if you're doing first time reaction vids, you deserve everything that comes to you ;).

Manhunter didn't get the love that Silence of the Lambs would a few years later. You've got a solid cast of B actors pulling off A+ performances. Cinematography that just oozes 80's and married to that, is a beautiful soundtrack which equally represents our favorite decade.

(YES I KNOW IN A GADDA DA VIDA IS NOT FROM THE 80S)

The big scene that everyone might know about is the finale in which Dollarhyde battles William, and literally every cop that surrounded his premises.

It's a beautful moment, and truly defines what a climax should mean in a film. Iron Butterfly's In a Gadda da Vida plays as Will stalks thru the nearby woods, being drawn to the madman he's tracked all throughout the film:

Preluding this awesome fucking scene we see Dollarhyde basically forfeit the rest of his humanity by letting his imagination run wild as he oversees an innocent exchange between his blind object of affection and a co-worker.

"Strong as I Am" The Prime Movers

So much of this movie, which the review crew and I will deep dive into later, is just pure magic. Every element in the production from acting to what we're here, for the music synergizes brilliantly.

Here is the full soundtrack complete with a tune from Silence of the Lambs (Goodbye Horses) enjoy it and know that works of art like this can exist as long as you're not a lazy bitch.

I've only ever seen these clips as meme videos with super-imposed heads but watching the original scenes from the movie are just as, if not more, powerful. Going to have give this a full-watch. Great post!
