Proud People and Other Dislikes
In this life, there are many things one does not like ooo. Me for one, if you give me the opportunity, I will just go on and on to mention the many things I dislike with reason(s). When I say dislike, it could be that those things are visibly around me and I live them. Some could be in the character exhibited by people around me and I want to ensure they are eliminated but people will continue to be people and these things will continue to coexist with us.
Cats
My dislike for cats is borne out of the belief that cats are usually vessels for carrying out witchcraft activities. One may think that this is superstitious but in truth, I have witnessed a situation when a woman was hypnotising the cats that ordinary people saw as pets and made them carry out some very serious activities of witchcraft over unsuspecting neighbours. Since then, I don't believe in keeping cats as pets. Though, some people have argued that cats are good at keeping mice away from the home which is one advantage for keeping cats. I just don't want to go near a cat or have them around my abode.
I know that cats are very good pets but they are not as faithful as dogs.
The facial expression of cats does not indicate when they are happy or sad. This makes it more difficult to understand a cat. These and more reasons are why I dislike cats.
Pride
Over the years, my interaction with people has improved because my friends have come to know that I am down to earth. I like to be supportive in any little way I can but one thing I detest is pride. When a person feels like he owns the world and cannot be seen in the midst of other people because of their social status or background, I am put off.
There was a time someone here on Hive became too proud that she asked me to unfollow her, men, that was the height of it. I did unfollow her immediately and never looked back. Today, I am still here and she is gone or has remained redundant.
I believe that we are all humans irrespective of our exposures, educational background, creed or clan. For me, what matters most is respect. Everybody deserves to be respected no matter their skin pigment or stature. In a nutshell, I dislike proud people.
Dirt
When I was in school, I got an award for the neatest guy on campus. That award did not come on a platter. Though I didn't have the best of çlothes but I made sure my clothes were washed and ironed and my bed space was always tidy.
It never occurred to me that I was being watched. All I was doing was to ensure that I stayed healthy
. I stayed in a hostel apartment with three other guys. Every weekend, I ensured we did sanitation to clean up our space.
Each time we had some of our coursemates or fellowship brethren visiting our room, they always poured accolades for our cleanliness.
Till now, whenever I decided to prepare our meal in the kitchen, I ensured that no used utensil(s) remained in the sink without being watched. I learned from my dad that cockroaches breed on remnants of meals that are on our dishes at night. This may not be easy to handle but it pays to keep the roaches away from homes.
These are the three things I dislike and more could be given but for now, lets end it here. One thing I would not do is to dislike people, I could dislike their character but not them.
Dirt is something that irritates me a lot, I don't know how it can be possible to leave things dirty! A person cannot take a package in the trash! Another leaves food residue... this is unacceptable!
Question of respect.
