An Incredible Ally for the First Position
One of the main choices in Splinterlands is which monster will be in the first position because it will be the main defense in the game.
In the current edition of Bounty cards there are many cards that are excellent defenses for the first position and today I will talk about one of them.
One of my current goals in Splinterlands is to build a collection of cards.
To build a card collection, I selected 3 editions to start with: the Chaos Legion edition, which is currently the cheapest in Splinterlands; the Gladiator card edition, because I can get it for free by spending only Merits; and the reward card edition, because I can also get it for free by spending only Glint.
With these 3 card editions, I'll have enough power to battle in my current league, which is the Diamond league. But for that to happen, I'll need to get my cards to the maximum level, so I'll be able to easily compete in this league and even move up to the Champion league.
All of these editions have incredible cards that can be used in ranked battles and tournaments. Today, I'm going to talk about a card from the current reward card edition that really caught my attention because it's very strong and useful in battles.

The card I'm talking about is Drybone Megalodon, it's a rare monster from the Fire deck and it will be a great ally in defense and attack.
Drybone Megalodon has a melee attack and in addition to having a powerful attack, it has great defenses because it has a large amount of life and also a lot of armor, so Drybone Megalodon will not be defeated easily.
Another detail that draws a lot of attention in Drybone Megalodon are its abilities, they are very useful in battle and make this monster even more incredible to have as an ally.
Drybone Megalodon's abilities are: Flank, Retaliate and Thorns.

The Flank ability makes Drybone Megalodon grant the Reach ability to the monster in second position, this ability is very useful so that I can use another powerful melee monster, so I can have 2 great defenses in the Frontline.

The Retaliate ability gives Drybone Megalodon a 50% chance to counter melee attacks, which means that when a monster with a melee attack attacks Drybone Megalodon, Drybone Megalodon will have a 50% chance to attack that monster back, and that's without counting the attack that Drybone Megalodon has per round.

The Thorns ability makes Drybone Megalodon deal 2 physical damage to the monster that attacks it with a melee attack, so when a monster with a melee attack attacks Drybone Megalodon, the monster that attacked it will receive 2 physical damage after the attack.
In my opinion, Drybone Megalodon is a great choice for the first position, it won't be defeated easily and it will still cause a lot of damage, but what makes it a great choice is its ability Flank because I can select another melee monster in the second position to reinforce my defenses in the Frontline or even to cause a lot of damage since most melee monsters are very powerful.
In my opinion, having another powerful melee card in the second position is a great benefit because this way my Frontline becomes even more powerful and I can keep my backline more protected.
