Gamers Earn Crypto & NFTs Playing Smash Bros. Ultimate Online | NFT Weekly 004 Recap [MMG]
MMG's SSBU NFT Weekly 004 came to a close last night in a flurry of lasers and wizardry (Robin vs Rob grand finals), but only one gamer would win MMG's Gold NFT Trophy AND walk away with $5 USD.
After reaching the finals from a dominant winners-side run of bracket, Morris (previous winner at MMG) would meet a worthy opponent in MMG newcomer, Koi, who placed 2nd at NFT Weekly 004. Though this was our first time seeing Koi in bracket, the skill they displayed with a character typically seen as a slow, heavyweight, projectile fighter(Robin), will be burned into our memory and recalled should we be so lucky as to see another Robin player come close to putting on the performance we saw last night. Causing a bracket reset against one of the best Rob players we've seen in MMG history.
Player Rewards & Acknowledgement
Congratulations, Morris, on winning 1st place overall at MMG's NFT Weekly! Morris is the second player to win multiple NFT Weekly events and will be commemorated on a player card NFT as part of MMG's SEED PACKS game.
Each tournament a new player will win a Gold NFT, which unlocks perks if the holder places high enough in bracket. Aside from bracket perks, trophies will also count toward seasonal points, where players/holders with the most points at the end of a season are rewarded.
This season, MMG's Gold NFT Trophy for SSBU unlocks an additional +$5 USD (crypto or gift card option as well) prize upon a placement of top 8 or better. The benefits of a trophy may stack if a player holds multiple MMG trophies.

Event Reflection
In total MMG paid out $10 this event. Five dollars was rewarded to Morris for first place, and $5 to Frawg, who claimed a Gold NFT Trophy at MMG's last Super Smash Bros. Ultimate NFT Weekly event and has held. It's also worth mentioning that, for the second event in a row, Frawg has chosen to accept their reward as crypto, not USD.
This was MMG's second event since November, which is typically a time when we at MMG slow down our events schedule, reflect on the past months, and decide where to focus our efforts in the year to come. Though our pace for events, and the social media promotion that rallies our audience has slowed, we still saw a decent turn out of 44 participants, and as MMG co-founder The Infinite said during the event "this was one of the smoothest and fewest DQ events we've had recently."
