Which Set will hold more value in the long run?
Happy new week crypto fam. Last week in crypto wasn’t so exciting, no pumps or presales or any major announcements compared to this week where we have Genesis League goals presale that will be starting by 25th of OCT with the games governance token that will be airdropped to SPS stakers, we also have Land rewards in the pipeline and more stuff from Splinterlands Tower Defence game.
Personally, I can’t wait for todays Splinterlands town hall meeting, so much info to dish out and latch on to. One thing I’ll love to see is this Genesis league goals fantasy football game drawing new people into the ecosystem and not just existing players, imagine having a fresh crowd of players who have no idea what Hive is or what Splinterlands is, a totally fresh crowd waiting to eat up the game. It will be really nice to see.
Will I be participating in the presale though? I doubt it because I’m very cash strapped at the moment, I’m saving towards my relocation plans and it’s taking a toll on my account balance aside making me miss out on a lot of investment opportunities but as it’s all for the greater good, I can’t complain, there’ll be many more investment opportunities to come in future but first I have to set myself up for a chance at a better life.
The price of SPS has eventually deviated from its long stable price at $0.7 range, now sitting pretty at $0.6 range, as far as I’m concerned, cheaper SPS means cheaper Riftwatcher packs, and cheaper Riftwatcher packs means more potential SPS to be sent to the DAO and taken out of circulation. Moreover, if people get excited about the GLS airdrop enough, we might see some quick pumps in anticipation for it.
Speaking of quick pumps on SPS, I’ve exhausted all my liquid SPS on Riftwatcher packs, I need to get more before the price starts to recover, and maybe I can make some profit from buying low and selling high. Infact as I’m writing this, my crypto-spider senses are telling me to quickly dump $100 into SPS for this right now. But my overly cautious self won’t let me. The price of SPS is currently $0.61. You’ll see I’ll be regretting not doing this in a couple of days or even today.
On another note, I’ve been hearing rumors of plans to burn the remaining Chaos Legion packs, this will greatly impact the dynamics of prices within the game as people will begin to scramble for whatever is left of the CL packs to upgrade their decks or just hold IF the rumors are true. So on that note, do you think it’s profitable to load up on CL packs now or just keep loading up on Riftwatcher packs?!
This is where I’m presently at on the table of my thoughts. What do you good people of Splinterlands think?

In the recent few weeks I have been overly excited about SPLINTERLANDS. With all the updates happening and with everything going on with SL it's going to be a wild ride coming in our way.
As for CL packs I wanted to couple of hundreds before it went scarce but the recent announcement of burning really got into the market. Which kind of led the price of CL packs rise a bit. Although I hope its not true because I want more of these CL packs but at the same time I want it to happen so that the price of the cards move significantly higher and thus packs as well.
I have participated in all the presales because like u I wa also squeezed in money lol but I wanted to and with the current SPS price I am really temped to buy more of them and stake them at the same time. Lets see what really awaits us in the long run.
I had about 100 packs of CL I wanted to keep. But I’ve opened them all 😭, lol. Now it’s between CL packs and Riftwatchers. I want to think Riftwatchers should hold more value in the long run because they are limited editions. I’m summary I need a miracle

Did you see the rumor that the remaining cards will be burnt?
While I agree that there were too many packs printed I think the issue here is there are too many things to currently purchase. Riftwatchers is new, Tower Defense, The Soccer Game, Runi plus regular pack sales. Its just too much at once for our small-mid size player base to eat up.

This too is true. Splinterlands wants to send me to my village and I won’t have it 🤣 jokin…but yeah I get the needing to buy this and buy that all at the same time. I can imagine all that distributed capital concentrated in one place. Anyhow…it’s easier to see only one side now and then again there’s never teallY a perfect time to build.
