Moving on to the next adventure, Anarchapulco, and what my new project has got to do with it...

Hello my dear Hive friends,
I hope your day turned out as sunny as the Mexican sun that's burning down on us here in Playa del Carmen right now. It wasn't like that last night and early today though. I was actually cold, would you believe it? Yes, it went from a constant 29 to 31 degrees to a bitter cold 22 degrees over night. Freeeezing! 😄
But don't worry, we're back to sunny 29 again.
Of course, this is not what I came to tell you today though. So let's dive into that, shall we?

What a view huh? Taken at the Reef 28 Rooftop Hotel by yours truly

Closing Chapter Playa del Carmen. Acapulco here we come!

Not for good. We'll definitely be back here. We've made friends, have lovely neighbours, and lots of activities to go to here. We'll miss that and don't want to part with it forever. Playa del Carmen has been amazing but it's time for our next stop: Acapulco. I've been wanting to go to Anarchapulco for the past 5 years, and this year, I finally get to go! YAY! Tickets bought and all.
My new project will also play a role in this. More about that later.

So next Thursday, I am going to travel to Merida, on a 6 hour bus ride. I'm going to spend the night there, and take off early in the morning to find the car that will bring us to Acapulco. A van. It will have to be a van or an SUV at the least. Transporting 6 people, some animals, and too many bulky items (pet carriers and suitcases) is a task in its own. So if the car I end up buying is going to be an SUV, we will have to lose some suitcases. I don't really want to spend money on bags, so lots of clothes will have to go too. Ah well, we'll get there. Fingers crossed it'll be a van!!!
Then Friday, I will drive back to Playa del Carmen the proud owner of a Mexican plated VAN, and on Saturday we'll slowly make our way towards Acapulco.
Stops: Merida, Yucatan - Campeche - Villahermosa, Tabasco - Veracruz - Puebla - and then finally Acapulco. So by my calculations, we'll be there by Thursday.
I'm still working Sunday till Thursday, on Irish time, so when we get to Acapulco, I will officially have my weekend.

Changes

And this is where I've spent a lot of my time contemplating on. My job.
I knew that I wasn't going to do this job forever. But it pays the bills for the moment. So I figured I could probably stick with it for another 6 to 12 months.
It's just not going to happen. The many changes the company goes through almost every week, is getting on my nerves. Respect to those who can work in the corporate world long term! I just don't have it in me. The second thing that's getting to me is my work hours. I work from 3 am till 11.30 am, and once we get to Acapulco this will change to 4 am until 12.30 pm. I liked the hours in the beginning, because I'd sleep from 8 pm till 2.30 am. Then once I finish work I have a whole day to enjoy. Until 8 pm that is. So I can never join any activities in the evenings. When visiting friends I have to leave early or pay the price the next day. I feel that I am switching my internal clock to working nights, so I have started to drink coffee in the middle of the night, and snack on crap at those late hours. NOT GOOD!

So I had to find something else to do.

My new project

Many different things passed my mind. The kids and I have come up with a few ideas but it's not the time for it yet. I really need to have left the job in order to work on that one.

For one, I'll be here on Hive a lot more. In fact, I am planning to dedicate time every day, and just show up each and every day. Once I'm not working 40 hours a week anymore, that should be possible.

I'd also like to do some volunteering. But that won't pay the bills...

And then something happened. I decided that I will not stay at this company for much longer. Yeah, I knew it for a while but there's a difference between knowing something and deciding. In my life, my experience is that once you decide something will happen, that's when other doors open. Opportunities will present themselves, ideas will come up out of nowhere, inspiration hits, job offers will come your way, etc. etc.
This works the same way in every aspect of life, by the way.
Law of attraction, manifestation, call it whatever you want. But for me, it just works that way.

So this time it did too. I'm surrounded by the right people at the moment. Something that wouldn't have easily happened in Ireland, I think. Well, it didn't in the 10 years I was there...
The right people means everything. I don't think I have to explain that to anyone here. In my opinion, the right people doesn't mean anything material or monetary (although it can, of course). To me it means support. It means having a laugh at times, and good talks at others. It means talking about ideas, plans, working together to make goals happen. Yeah, you know what I mean. I found my tribe. At least part of it.
Because I decided I didn't want to do this job much longer, being in the right place, at the right time, and with the right people, inspiration hit me. Like a fire bolt. BOOM!
source

It's amazing when those things happen. It didn't just hit me with ideas, or an idea, it gave me all the solutions on how to work it out.
Yes, it still needs some work. Quite a bit. But it's not going to take long once I have all the pieces of the puzzle worked out. I have to be quite quick, because I want it to be a subject to talk about once I get to Anarchapulco!
It's not rocket science. It should help...

I know, I've started something before, and I haven't finished it. Like my localize-it translation project. But that was in a time when...well, we forked. And then shit happened. I think I'm not the only one who's ever abandoned a project before it even took off...

I will not discuss the details at the moment. That will remain my little secret for a little while. But I can tell you that it will have something to do with NFTs. And that it will be good. Better even: it will be great!
In fact: I haven't been as excited about anything since I've decided to move to Mexico. So that should tell ya something. For now, my little brain cells have work to do. Soon I will tell more. Soon. Very soon...

Awesome, I wish we had left for Play del Carmen when this crap started 2 years ago. There is nothing like being surrounded by your tribe.

Thanks for the follow. I will keep in mind about Playa.
Currently in Germany, so you can imagine how it is with rules and things.
Keep up the great posts! Very inspiring :)

Oh wow, yeah Germany is horrible from what I've heard. I have a friend who was there till recently, but she left for Turkey with her son. I think aside from Mexico and a handful of other countries, Turkey is one of the most 'sane' ones at the moment. A bit closer to you, maybe something to consider...
And hey, if you ever decide to come this way, there's always a way, and there's always help. There are many more like us here...

Yeah, it has been quite a tough challenge dealing with insane people. Thanks for the very kind words :) It's always good to meet another one of us.
Tomorrow we go to Turkey, so can check it out :)

Ha! It was a bit of an experiment to see if people would be interested to read some past posts, and to keep them alive.
I guess it's a positive outcome hehe.

The project is coming along pretty well. I am 100% sure that you will like it. :) Thanks for stopping by and your support dear Hetty.

I am with you, having tried making a go at corporate life. There were so many things I did not care for. My favorite job of all time is working for myself, very fulfilling.

Yes, that is so true. There are ups and downs of course, as with anything. But working for yourself is always so much better than for a boss. Thank you for taking the time to come here and read my older posts. Very much appreciated!
