A new poster of Dry boneraider for Splinterlands art contest
Good evening everyone... ❤️🔥
While i was stting this night and thinking of what i should do, i thought why i dont make a poster for this week of the contest.. So, i get up and made my coffee and set ony balcony and start.
It took time from me about one hour.
I used my android phone to make the poster, so it was so flexible to finish. 😁
Designing a poster for Splinterlands’ Dry Bone Raider was an exciting journey that allowed me to explore my creativity while paying homage to the game’s dark fantasy aesthetic. Since I wanted a professional yet striking result, I began with a pre-designed template on Canva, a powerful and user-friendly platform that offers endless customization options. The template served as a strong foundation, but I made extensive modifications to ensure the final piece truly embodied the Undead faction’s eerie and menacing vibe.
Concept and Design Choices
The Dry Bone Raider is a fearsome creature in Splinterlands, known for its skeletal appearance and relentless combat style. To capture its essence, I chose a dark, desaturated color palette—deep blacks, ashy grays, and hints of eerie green—to emphasize its undead nature. The background features a misty, battle-scarred wasteland, reinforcing the idea of a warrior risen from death. I also incorporated subtle glowing effects around the Raider’s weapons and eyes to give it a supernatural aura.
Editing Process in Canva
Using Canva’s advanced tools, I adjusted contrast, brightness, and saturation to make the character stand out. I layered grunge textures over the poster to give it a worn, ancient feel, as if the Raider had emerged from an old crypt. The text was carefully chosen—bold, gothic-style fonts for the title, with a blood-red accent to hint at violence. I also added Splinterlands’ logo and faction insignias to tie it back to the game’s universe.
Final Touches with Snapseed
To elevate the poster further, I imported it into Snapseed for precision editing. Using selective adjustments, I sharpened the Raider’s bones and weapons, making them look more menacing. I applied a slight vignette effect to draw focus to the character and used the "Glamour Glow" filter sparingly to enhance the mystical atmosphere. The final result was a high-contrast, cinematic-quality poster that looks like it belongs in an official Splinterlands promo.

Why This Design Works
The poster succeeds because it tells a story—viewers can instantly recognize the Dry Bone Raider’s role as a terrifying undead warrior. The composition leads the eye naturally from the title to the character, and the dark tones create a sense of foreboding. By blending Canva’s versatility with Snapseed’s fine-tuning capabilities, I achieved a professional-grade design without needing complex software.
Reflections and Future Improvements
This project was a great learning experience in digital art and branding. If I were to improve it, I might experiment with more dynamic poses or animated elements (for digital use). I’d also love to incorporate fan feedback from the Hive community to refine the design further.
Ultimately, this poster was a labor of love for Splinterlands, and I’m thrilled with how it turned out. It’s proof that with the right tools and vision, even template-based designs can become unique, eye-catching masterpieces.
Hope you liked this poster and tell me if you think i must change something about it.
See in the next week dear hivers.. all love for you my friends. ❤️🙏
