Survey Results – 60 Plots in the Pristine Northwest

Oh, how long I've been sitting on these. I bought them before land sold out, all the way back in January 2020 I believe. Actually I bought 12 at that point come to think of it. Then I closed my eyes and used my credit card to buy 48 more, to end up with an even 60 plots.

Then came the bull market and all the hype. I certainly wish I'd have sold at least a few of them at $600 a pop. I mean, in retrospect I could've easily bought them all back and then some, and probably gotten myself a nice new car as well. But in the end I did not. And anyways, who's got time for regrets.

Time for surveying

I claimed my plots pretty soon after claiming was possible back in January, in the Pristine Northwest – Region 1, Tract 6 to be specific. At that point I was happy to get all my plots claimed in a single tract, to increase my chances for a Keep. A 60% chance are pretty good odds.

Because of certain obligations at home, I was not able to survey my plots right away. And as I was waiting, I was watching the survey status of all the plots in my tract. As the hours went by, more and more plots were surveyed, but still no Keep in sight. My chances was increasing all the time.. I was holding my breath.

Then finally the hour arrived. At this point, my tract was looking like this: Only 2 unsurveyed plots besides mine, and still no Keeps had been discovered.

I still did not dare to hope for anything, though I was feeling pretty confident at this point.

The results

And behold! I won't go into details of all 60 plots – most of them were regular commons, as expected. Instead, I'll list the highlights:

• 1 Keep (YES!!)
• 2 Occupied (1 rare, 1 common)
• 4 Magic (1 rare, 3 common)
• 2 Epic, natural
• 2 Legendary, natural

If that's not beating the odds, I don't know what is. Needless to say, I'm very happy with what I got.

Survey starter packs and worker cards

I went with the full package (all three survey packs) for each plot, for a total of 1,8 million DEC-B that I've been stacking for a good while. I also have a good portion of regular liquid DEC for staking once that's a thing.

When it comes to actual cards to work my plots, I have a relatively decent amount to spare. Not nearly enough to populate all 60 plots, but my top 5-10 ones should be decently covered. A bunch of spare maxed out regular foils, some GF commons ++ and some GFLs + 1 spare Runi. I do have a few cards from Beta, though none of them are maxed out and I tend to use them in the Guild Brawls, so I'll probably have to do without most of them in this regard.

I wish I could say I was buying up GFLs when they were at around $20. I did buy a few at that point, and I'm glad I did cus now the cheapest one is currently triple that. But there's only so much money you can spare for certain things at certain points in time.

So there it is, all that buildup after all those years; Land is finally here. This marks a huge milestone in the history of Splinterlands, and I'm so happy I was here for it.
