Excited for Tezo Trooperz Game - Enlist Now

As I was lurking over Discord space, naturally you'll come across a lot of games and NFT collection servers. I would join and then leave a server if I don't get a feel of the channel. I guess I have enlisted by now to over 20 channels but then I am only active on 3, Tezo Trooperz, Hiveph, and Dogami.

Foray into Rebel Country

So I stumbled upon Tezo Trooperz's channel. I just went in blindly and wasn't expecting much. Primarily I would look at the main chat channel if people are engaging. Hmm, people are active. The members and mods looks like they have fun chatting with each other. The vibe was definitely positive and fun.

I surmised that the channel is a channel dedicated for a game based on conversations I was seeing. Everyone seems to be excited for mint day, during that time minting was close. Then looking for other details specifically mint details I found out the game is being hosted on the Tezos network. Yay, low gas fees.
Minting was 13 XTZ for WL and 18 XTZ for non-WL. Seems reasonable. Even after minting everyone is still active and was really into the community, which for me is a good sign for me because it means the community is totally immersed and excited for the game.

At this point I had no understanding of the game yet. I was just lurking and engaging a bit since people are really nice in the discord channel. At first I wasn't planning to mint at all because my Tezos wallet have no XTZs on it. Then with my interaction from different channels I came across a Portuguese dude who asked me if I got onto Trooperz. I said "No, I don't really have money right now." He proceeded to tell me that the game is dope and he is super excited for it.

My amigo from Portugal is not part of the team, just a regular player. He shilled me Tezotopia and Tezo Trooperz. Tezotopia was giving away something then and for Tezo Trooperz he was just plain excited to share it with me. That vibe he got going really made me look more into Tezo Trooperz.

Deeper Into Rebel Territory
So digging a bit deeper into the Tezo Trooperz, I actually started crawling to the other in-channels of Tezo Trooperz's discord channel. Mint date already happened and going into public sale. I browsed at the Show Your Trooperz channel to see what the WL people got.

I was blown away by the art pieces. Another thing I like is the Brave Starr theme going(if you remember that classic cartoons). So it is basically cowboy steampunk with a mix of Samurai steampunk.

You'll notice there's a guy that looks like Keanu Reeves from Cyberpunk 2077. The game actually pays tribute to cool steampunk characters and just even cool characters. I saw I guess a reference to Black Widow and Lara Croft too. Some even resemble GI Joe cyborg characters. All cool.

The Game

Based from the lore published on the website, machines have taken over in the distant future and the last patch of surviving humans have decided to make a stand to fight Titan, the thinking machine that decided to eradicate humans after deducing that humans are the main culprits of the destruction of the planet.

About 2500 rebel Trooperz are going to carry out missions to rescue other surviving humans and to take down Titan and his machine army. So far about 1500 are minted so there are still ample numbers of cool Gen-0 Trooperz to be revealed. I think the reason really this has not sold out yet because not many people just know about it yet. I guess also coupled with the timing of the crypto slide that most NFT projects right now even the popular ones are waiting for favorable market conditions to take off.

Not a Hype

Tezo Trooperz is a play-to-earn game based out on the Tezos network. You will earn $REBL coins as you play. The game is really exciting because it is supposed to be played with fellow rebel Trooperz by forging alliances, but you can also play on your own.

Each NFT have a classification. The rarest and most powerful are the Kings and Queens. They earn the most REBL tokens. Next to the Kings and Queens are the Troop Leaders. Troop Leaders kind of direct a raid and attacks with a team of Long Range and Warriors. Long Range are effective at attacking from a distance while Warriors are better suited for close combat battles. If you check the character page, you'll see how much each class of characters will earn as you go about and complete missions.

You can bet there is no hype about this, just really relying on game quality. From my talks with certain team devs, they are right now concentrated on following the road map and not much into marketing yet. They truly believe in the game and on their top-notch NFTs.

Beyond the Game

Aside from making friends around the world, playing the game actually would be like participating in a DeFi transaction. You are actually staking your NFTs and while staking them you are earning $REBL coins that are easily tradable to XTZs. Since you can stake your NFTs, that means you can earn even while not playing. How cool is that right? But of course, to get the most of the rewards, the best course of action is to play your NFTs.

Prediction

For now crypto games are a bit of a bind but with Dogami bannering Tezos-based games, it will eventually bring people in to notice other games from Tezos blockchain. Aside from Dogami, Tezo Trooperz is one of those that I think would be a hit.

Just create a tezos wallet, probably Kukai or Temple. I use kukai because you just bind your google or twitter or even reddit and that's it.
