Eastern Bluebirds at my house!

For the first time in almost 25 years of living here there is a pair of Eastern Bluebirds hanging out at my feeder!

@gems.and.cookies Here are the promised photos. Be sure and share them with your wife! They look like the birds in her lovely needlework piece

I had some brush cut to give myself a better view of the creek and river, and I think they are attracted to the open area that has been created.

The female has more muted colors than the male.

My across the street neighbor is a dedicated birdwatcher and she bought me a bluebird house to see if we can convince them to move in and raise some young bluebirds here!

The sides open for cleaning and removing old nesting material.
The wire mesh screen is intended to protect the eggs and baby birds from predators, like raccoons.

Maybe I need to put up a sign that says For Rent to Bluebirds Only. It will be fun to see who moves in!

I can't wait to see the tropical birds that you might attract with a feeder!

I'm in the city I think I'll only see sparrows and doves, I can't think of any other bird that could come and believe me I know the local fauna, that's why I opt for the sunzunes

I am quite thrilled each time I see a new bird at the feeder, but this pair have been frequent daily visitors now for several weeks, so it makes me hopeful that they intend to stay in the neighborhood!

Bluebird populations plummeted 90% by the 1980s, and only 600 nesting pairs were observed in Wisconsin.. Restoration projects have helped increase the population, and I feel very lucky to have these visitors!

Beautiful blue birds and nice captures @melinda010100 Having waited (unconsciously perhaps) for so many years has made this event something special, I think. Thanks for sharing 😊

They had become very rare here and because of habitat restoration projects the populations have begun to increase. I feel very lucky to have them visiting me!

That is awesome! I hope they decide to stick around in the home you have provided. Such pretty birds!

How are you doing?
!DHEDGE one of these days it might work!

I will be so excited to have them nesting here.

I'm beginning to realize that rewriting these programs to connect with the new server updates is not a simple thing. It must be terribly frustrating to have everything working perfectly and the have to start over because of changes that some node decides to make! It will be a pleasant surprise when we have a fully functional DHEDGE back again.

Oh wow, I would like to request that if you get any inside please let us know. I want to see if those birds stay in there or not.

The birds already trust you because they feed from the feeder without any fear

I will be dancing with joy if they choose to build a nest there and will happily let you know!

Nice catch! What an opportunity to have new comers to the feeder. Hopefully you get your wish and your tenants move in promptly! I have a few feeders in my yard and it's amazing the rotation of species that have stopped by over the years. Nice shots and thanks for sharing!

Lovely bluebird pair and nice house. Get it put up quickly I think they are starting to look for nesting spots 🙂 We have bluebirds around here. The birdhouses I built and put up are for bluebirds. So far only wrens have used them. I had a pair of bluebirds building a nest but a bear knocked down the birdhouse. They haven't came back 🙁

My bluebirds will not have to worry about bears! It is move in ready, I only hope the get to it before the house finches do!

Some people "evict" unwanted tenants but I get too much joy out of watching any bird build a nest and raise babies. So sometimes other birds use my bluebird houses 😊

It's been a long time but it's good that these rare birds have come to your home and you've worked hard to make them a beautiful home.

Thank you so much for sharing these super lovely and cute photos of these bluebirds. My wife loves them. Wish we also have an across the street neighbor who could do such a beautiful "Abirdatelle" (short for apartelle and bird 😄) and gift us with one.

Hope the new tenants come in soon. Be sure to put a sign that "rent is free" for them 😁

What a beautiful bird and how good that you can see it from the comfort of your home, in my city Caracas I can also see several birds in my mother's house avilanes and birds called Christo It was because of his song that it seems like he was saying that but I don't have a photo

but waiting to enter a presentation of my daughter I saw a pair of parrots that were making a nest and these photos are what I managed to take
